Many people don't know where to start when it come to supplements. Who can blame them? Protein, Creatine, Pre-Workout, Post-Workout, Intra-Workout, BCAA, Glutamine...... The list goes on.
The supplements you take should corresspond with your goals and how committed you are. Let's compare two teenagers.
The first one is Steve, he is 17 year old. Steve has just stated training and wants to build muscle without putting on weight.The Second is John, who is also 17 but has been training 5 times a week for 2 years.
Now, you would think that they would both need the same supplements, as they are the same age. However, this is incorrect. As Steve is only just starting out, he does not need much motivation to work out, and he hasn't got a base to work on. John however has been training for two years and needs something increase his strength and help motivate him.
This is where you need to know your supplements.
As Steve is only starting out, all he needs is a lean protein powder such as Nitro-Tech Hardcore. This would be the best choice for him as this is a high quality protein and has no fat or carbs, perfect for what Steve wants to acheive, which is a muscular lean body. There is no need for him to take creatine, BCAA's and the rest. After 6-8 weeks or training, it would be a good idea to add a secondary supplement to his program, such as Creatine, but not at the very start.
John has been training for 2 years, so he will need more than Steve. As John struggles to put on weight, he begins to lose motivation. Someone like John would need a strong weight gainer such as Mass Tech or True Mass. These two weight gainers have proven to be the best, hands down. Now, John has his weight gainer protein, however, he still needs to boost his motivation. This is where a pre-workout like No-Xplode or SuperPump 250 comes into play. These two combined will boost this Strength, Size, Pump and Weight like no tomorrow!
