Car rear view monitor reverse camera parking sensor kit

With more than 16 million vehicles registered in Australia finding a car park at your local shopping center is becoming harder and harder by the day and although we at isuperstore can’t help you there, we can help you reverse into that tricky space someone’s parked too close to the lines a lot easier.

Parking sensors are the cool new addition to your car, mounted on your rear bumper and automatically turning on when you engage reverse, the little sensors start to beep as you reverse, the closer you get to the object they start to beep faster warning you of what’s going behind you.

Installation

Whilst the Parking sensors themselves are not an expensive item, getting them installed properly is, and for good reason too.

The installation can be anywhere from $80 - $300 but beware of the "Di$count Dan $pecial!" it may cost you more in the long run.
Parking sensors are arrayed across our whole bumper, as such, they are very easy to see if the are not in perfectly straight.

This means if they are installed improperly, they will be visible as wonky form a fair distance away, ruining the look of your car.

A great installer will use either a laser or some tape and a level to ensure that they are aligned perfectly.

Paint

Most parking sensors come in black. As you will already know, there are a hundred different shades of black out there. In a plastic bumper that is matte black this isn't such an issue. In a painted bumper this becomes an eyesore. For about $35-$50 you can have all 4 sensors painted to match your bumper. The secret here is to get the paint code for your car from the dealer. Or a good panel beater will be able to advise you on this as well.

You should also be cautious when buying pre-sprayed or coloured sensors as the chance that they will match your car is slim to none.

Front Sensors

Parking sensors can also be fitted to your front bumper, so as your driving into a car space you know how far close you are to the wall, or the car in front.
This type of installation will require a switch to ensure they do not go off all of the time and annoy you when you are sitting at the lights, or when someone walks in front of your car when you are parked somewhere.

This means you can activate them when you are parking and they will only beep at you when you want them to.  The switch itself will only be about $10 but the additional wiring will add to the install fee as the installer will need to take this through your firewall (usually) and into your dash.

This is another good reason to go with a reputable installer as they will be drilling a hole in your dash, or, using an empty switch slot in your console.
