we get a lot of questions concerning customers wanting to up grade the wheels for 15 inch to 16 inch or even 17-18-19-20- etc.
so this is how you would know how to upgrade your wheels. certain states allow you to upgrade but to a certain limit.
NEW SOUTH WALES & ACT & VICTORIA passanger vehicles must not increase more than 25mm, beyond the maximum specified by the wheel manufacture.
QUEENSLAND & SOUTH AUSTRALIA & NORTHERN TERRITORY has a limit of 26mm
WESTERN AUSTRALIA is 25mm
TASMANIA "IS THE BEST" 50mm for car and 75mm on 4 by 4
NORTHERN TERRITORY is 26mm.
example.......for NSW & ACT
so if you have 216/60r16 tyres the maximum you can go in width is 216+25=241, T here fore because there is no 241 width tyres you maximum will be 235mm width,,,,,***********pls note that the profile will also change from 16 inch to 17 inch,,,,,,,,,and the side wall also changes to 45 series high performance tyres
******there fore if you only go up between the guide lines of every state, you "do not" have to have notify your local road and traffic authorities.
