If silver is worth 18 AU per ounce then I'd say that each coin (1/3 of an ounce silver in 80% alloy) should be worth
at the very least SIX dollars, as that is the content of the silver and its value.
Perhaps I am wrong - Sterling silver is more desirable as it's 92.5% and jewelers can easily melt it down and turn
it into jewelry. Is this why an 3 coins of 80% alloy is worth less per ounce than and actual ounce of pure silver?
If so, I don't agree with the reasoning. Silver is silver is silver , whether pure, 80% or 50%.
