Born John Lewis Carrell (Carrell was printed incorrectly as
Carroll on the record label), Carroll began recording for Decca Records in the
middle of the 1950s. He released several singles, but none of them saw
significant success, though they are now critically acclaimed. His career ended
toward the end of the 1950s, but he made a comeback in 1974 with a Gene Vincent
tribute song. He continued to record well into the 1980s. For many years he was
connected with the Cellar Club in Ft Worth,
Johnny Carroll was one of the wildest of them all. For fans of explosive, no-holds-barred rockabilly, this is a dream collection. It includes all of Johnny's recordings from 1955 to 1960. All the early, garagey Dallas cuts are here, the classic Sun and Decca sides, more from Dallas, and four songs for the legendary sub-B movie, 'Rock Baby, Rock It'. Tracks include, That's The Way I Love, Hot Rock, Wild Wild Women, Crazy Crazy Lovin', Tryin' To Get To You, Corrine Corrina and Rock And Roll Ruby.
I am selling lots of American copies of CDs. All are new. These come from a warehouse clearance. Some are promotional copies; others are standard retail copies; many are rare out-of-print. Starting price is just 10 cents a CD.
The end is nigh - we are coming into the last month of sales as I am finding it too hard to source more stuff at a reasonable price. I have kept some of the best till last. At this point I think the final sale night will be 22nd June.
It has been fun, 2 years and over 5000 CDs sold. Lots of fantastic customers, thank you so much and I hope I have succeeded in unearthing some interesting obscurities. I will miss you and the kind messages that I have received.
Many are rare / obscure
/ never released in Australia.
Some come with different artwork; check the format description. Note that some have been in storage uncased for up to 20 years so may have small surface marking; where they do I have checked that they play perfectly.
All are sold without
plastic cases unless specifically stated as this reduces your postage cost, though some are in digipacks if that was how they were released. I can supply plastic cases but these are $1 extra to cover cost of the case plus extra postage.
Postage is $2.20 each for first and second item, then $1.10 per item for additional CDs over 2. For bigger orders I can ship up to 500 grams (10 regular CDs) for $7.50.
International buyers add $6 to the total. Because countries vary, if it costs less I'll refund the difference. For example up to 250 grams (3 CDs without cases) to the USA, Canada or UK is $7.20
New Zealand - $5.50 for first item, then $1 per item for additional CDs
