It was easy to install and exactly as advertised. It is difficult to appraise the performance of a solar panel during winter because of a sad lack of sunshine, but at present the voltage being generated is as expected. If you search the web for installation instructions you may be mislead. I used ten aluminium angle brackets cut from a one metre length. I recommend a foam roller to help lift the panel and position it accurately on the roof of the van. The dealer answered my questions quickly and delivery was fast. The panel controller was replaced immediately after my phone call without incurring return freight costs.

I have had these panels on test for one month, over that period of time the most output I got from the pair is 87 watts. That falls well below the claimed rated output of 400 watts. Even the rated maximum specification is misleading. 11 amps into a short circuit = 0 power (according to Ohms Law) the same applies to the voltage specification, the highest measured voltage was 22.6 volts with the panels in an open circuit condition. The best result, under test conditions was when the panels were 19v and supplying 4.57 amps= 87 watts.

These are awsome solar panels. even in winter when it's very dark and cloudy they produce enough power to keep my batteries sufficiently charged to run my waeco cf60 at +2°c and cf40 at -18°c and still have 12.2v at dawn... during the day in full sunlight I can run a 850watt 240volt 2 slice toaster or cook a frozen pizza in my 700watts toaster oven "only using the bottom element" plugged into my 1000w pure sine wave inverter. After 20minutes the batteries are around 11.8volts, but as soon as the oven go's "ding" the battery voltage returns to 12.4volts and within an hour the batteries are around 14.5volts again. I've had these solar panels fitted on the roof of my transit van for 2months and I'm extremely happy with the power output. highly recommend. My battery bank is 3x 75ah deep cycle batteries total of 225ah. So it's important to me to have good reliable solar high power solar panels, so they produce enough power during the darker winter months to keep my batteries sufficiently charged, as well as giving awsome performance in full sunlight.Read full review

The unit is as described and can be used with a MPPT regulator. While not top of the line, as value for money these are good panels. Out of the box in the shed the panels were generating 8 volts. While the suppliers don't state this the panel has a Vmax of 18 volts. They should take a picture of the specifications on the back of the panel. Out in the sunlight open circuit the panel was reading about 19 volts. I installed 2 of these panels in series on top of Jayco 18' expanda and used a MPPT 30A regulating inverter. The inverter on a sunny winter day is putting out about 18.5 amps at 14.8 volts or 273W. Had all lights and TV running loading up the system. Will see how this goes over time so far looks really good.
