1 x Enerdrive VSR DUAL BATTERY ISOLATOR (over 300 sold)
Enerdrive VSR Features
The Enerdrive Voltage Sensitive Relay (VSR) allows safe charging and separation of starting and auxiliary batteries in Marine, 4WD, Caravan and Solar applications.
12 Volts, 140A continuous, it's dimensions are (mm) 68(L) x 68(W) x 52(H)
When the engine is started, starting and auxiliary batteries are separated allowing only the starting battery to be charged. When the charge voltage reaches 13.3 volts the VSR engages allowing both starting and auxiliary batteries to be charged. This is indicated by the red light in the top LH corner being illuminated.
When the engine is stopped and the battery voltage falls below 12.8 volts the VSR disengages separating the start and auxiliary batteries. The auxiliary battery continues to power any accessories without risk of draining the starting battery.
The Enerdrive VSR also has "Dual Sensing" which senses the voltage of both batteries.
If either battery is receiving a charge, e.g. a battery charger is connected to the auxiliary battery; the VSR will engage and charge both batteries.
I believe that these Enerdrive VSR's are every bit as good as any other well respected battery isolators, and these do have some nicer features, and for just $70.
These are a re-branded BEP unit, and they have a fantastic long time track record in the marine industry, they are very compact, with no exposed terminal posts, they are also water and dust proof as well, and they are bi-directional, this means that they will cross charge from either battery once a charging voltage has been reached, while always protecting you starting battery from discharging.
