RE-LISTED DUE TO NON-PAYING BUYER!
For Sale today this really lovely custom Chris Kvale road bike from the early/mid 1980s, equipped with a minty Suntour Superbe group. Parts are in very-lightly-used-to-nos condition. Included but not shown is a Silca frame-pump, painted to match the frame--it fits under the top-tube.
NOTE WELL! Free shipping in CONUS on this item!
55.5cm center-top seat; 56cm c-c top tube.
This racing frame built in Kvale's characteristic style of beautifully brazed, shaped, and filed lugs for a refined and elegant appearance. Original owner's name is stamped under the bb shell.
Tubular tire wheels feature 32-spoke rims mated to Suntour Superbe hf hubs. Rear hub logo has been rubbed away for reasons unknown, and the rear hub is missing its grease-port cover; none of this affects functionality, the hub spins smoothly. Stainless spokes mate the hubs to a Nisi Sludi in front, and a Nisi Toro in the rear.
There are a few very light scratches and chips here and there in the paint. Nothing of special note. From 3 feet away the bike presents as in virtually new condition.
This bike functions perfectly and is ready to ride EXCEPT FOR: the tires hold air at full pressure, but must be re-glued for the bike to be ridden safely. I'd glue on new tires.
This bicycle is also for sale on a couple of other vintage bike forums. Subject to prior sale, so make your offer or purchase now!
International buyers NOTE WELL: Shipping costs vary drastically from country to country. Some countries accept 108" girth+length under USPS first class international guidelines and costs. Other countries accept only 79" girth+length. In the latter case, I can ship only by Global Express, which generally runs between 500 and 600 USD. For countries that accept 108", shipping is usually under $200. Also, I will NOT mislead on customs forms. I will write actual purchase-price-value and you are responsible for all import-associated fees in accord with your Customs regulations.
If you have any other questions please ask before purchasing or making an offer.
