- SELLING TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER -
Located on the Gold Coast, Qld. Sold new 7th August 2002 at Southport Motors Jaguar (Gold Coast). Zircon Blue metallic with Sand leather trim. 297,000k's... Yep, 297,000k's - WOW!
Buy this X-Type and you'll have bragging rights at your local Jaguar Drivers Club meeting on a few levels... Firstly, it'll be the highest mileage one there, secondly everyone will be astounded by its condition, and thirdly you'll have purchased the best value X-Type in the country! ...And its a beaut!
You'd think it obvious that there is some wear at this kind of mileage, and there is; but it really is very superficial with all things considered. there is a "shopping trolley" type of dent on the left front door which could probably be popped out easily by the dent doctor, an unfortunate kiss from a tow bar while parking has left a crack in the front bumper on the drivers side (about $250 to have professionally fixed) and the top of the steering wheel has some discolouring (easily re-coloured by the mobile leather doctor if you're that fussy).
This aside, the Jag is cosmetically really lovely - in fact it's probabaly much nicer than you'd otherwise expect. The paint is still extremly nice; smooth and shiny with a good finish and only minor marks for the age. Inside the car is excellent. The leather is outstanding which is a very welcome surprise at this mileage. It has not been "tarted up" for sale with painting/re-colouring etc; it has just been kept clean and conditioned. The door trims and carpets still look great, the head lining is new and the timber trims are perfect. It feels good inside and smells like a Jag should. It does not at all feel down, tatty or like it has done anything like the mileage it has. It really is astounding just how well kept it has been.
Same can be said of the cars performance on the road. The engine is smooth, strong and doesn't use fluids or overheat. There are no odd noises, no engine rattles and no smoke. The auto is perfect; no slips or flares and it responds well. The car revs smoothly all the way through the rev range. The steering feels direct and precise, the brakes feel great, the suspension gives a very good ride, the remote central locking works and there are no warning lights illuminated on the dash. It has been a well maintained car throughout its life with a stamped logbook history to support.
Please be aware that the air conditioning is not blowing cold, although all functions of the system are working fine (fans, vents, heater).
The Jag has the original book pack that includes its service logbook - it is full of stamps. It has one key/remote and it also has the original floor mats (in the boot).
In summary, I'd never have imagined an X-Type at this mileage could be this nice... No, it's not perfect but it is entirely lovely, well presented and has been 100% reliable. It has good tyres fitted and has been inspected by my preferred mechanic who, after after seeing to a couple of items, has deemed it roadworthy. If you are a Qld buyer you are welcome to go directly to him to have a RWC issued (he will charge you $65 for this. I can then legally leave the registration on for you which is current until August this year. If you are interstate the car will NOT come with rego as Qld rego cannot be transferred to another state. You are welcome to chat to my mechanic about the car if you are a serious bidder, but please be respectful of his time.
The Jag has a clear and clean title; no accident history, never written off/flood affected/hail damaged etc.
