Cracka Review

2011 was a challenging sort of vintage in the Adelaide Hills, a positively frosty one in the scheme of things and a year that produced super cool, super crisp wines. in this case it has made for a lovely grassy sort of wine, a snappy and super dry Sauvignon Blanc that is bursting with cool, minty flavours backed up by some residual sweetness on the palate. Easier to like really. Oh and did we mention that this is actually a more expensive wine bottled under an unknown label? Cheeky too!

Winemakers Note

The Wine - The grapes were sourced from two premium vineyards in the Gumeracha sub-region of the Adelaide Hills. They were harvested in the pre-dawn cool and delivered to the winery where we gently crushed the grapes extracting the delicate fruit flavours without absorbing the harsh skin tannins. This gentle approach has produced a wine with elegant tropical fruits, crisp apple acidity and herbaceous cucumber and green bean characters.

Colour - Pale golden straw with a youthful green hue.

Aroma - A highly aromatic nose with lifted tropical fruits of pineapple, passion fruit, rockmelon and freshly cut honey dew melon, integrated with crisp apple and hints of cucumber and green beans.

Palate - Crisp fruit driven palate which carries through the tropical flavours shown on the nose. Balanced acidity and exceptional fruit length are complemented by crisp apple and cucumber notes with gentle fruit sweetness completing the wine.

Cellaring - Drink now, with seafood, chicken salad, or just on its own!

Do I need to be home when my purchase arrives?

No. If you are not at home your order will either be returned to your nearest post office for your collection (with a card placed in your letter box) or we can also leave delivery instructions to leave it somewhere safe.

Can I pickup from you?

Sadly not - all of our wine is stored at a closed, off-site warehouse.

Wine is an agricultural product and as such does tend to run out/ and or change vintage. If this does happen we will have to remove the item or substitute it with a similar item (not without telling you first!) and if necessary refund you. We also reserve the right to change or remove a listing (and refund you if necessary) if there are errors of any kind.

Breakages

If you receive a case of wine with one or more broken bottles, simply let us know within 2 working days of the date of delivery and Cracka Wines will issue you with an account credit equal to the price paid by you for the broken bottles.
