I'm a lucky 55 year old with a 10 handicap. I get to play about 3x a week but quite variable since I travel very frequently. I live in the Philippines and work all over developing renewable energy plants and systems. In order to play as much as I can, I have 3 sets of clubs in the three main islands - Luzon (where I have my A set), Visayas (where I get to play the most now, and where I have the exact same irons as in Luzon), and Mindanao, where I'm upgrading the pieces). I used to be a KZG Evolution player but I switched all my irons to Wilson Staff FG V2s. And I have a set in Minnesota, where summer golf is simply fabulous. These irons are a revelation! They are one of the best irons regardless of value. This compares and compares VERY WELL with the best of them - Mizunos, Beres, Titleist, etc. They give you confidence as a players club, thin topline, sleek, aggressive profile but they forgive in a unique way. They point you and make you swing at the target through weight, balance, and feel. There is no gimmicky sole, insert, or weighting system, just pure steel, crafted to hit the ball purely. Forged but firmer than others, the feel of contact is electrifying but subtle. I had mine fitted so they are all 2 degrees upright and 3/4" longer. The heads bend well with that classic Wilson hosel that are long and tapered. I chose the KBS Tour shafts. For me, they are perfectly matched with the heads and my swing. For those of you who are enjoying golf and want to play better, try the Wilson Staff FG Tour. The original, V2, and now V4 are quite similar in that those that own them love them. My only concern is that I don't want to see V6 and get blown out of my mind again. I'll need 4 sets of that!Read full review

I'm a 12 handicap and everyone kept telling me I should buy something more forgiving like a Ping or Callaway etc. I wanted a forged club for the feel and to try and work the ball. Well was I pleasantly suprised. I knew I hit them well from trying them on demo days but I really didn't know that they would give me at least 10yds more distance but also be really easy to hit and control. When you make a good swing they feel like butter and the ball shoots of the face. I hit a high draw and it is even higher and longer now. Also the feel around the greens is great. I made the right choice and Sunday made my first hole in one on a par 3 with a 7 iron. I suspect my handicap is going lower.
Needed a new set of irons so I opted for the cheaper Wilson Staff FG Tours. Let me tell you that just because they are cheaper doesn't mean they are not just as good. I was hitting Mizuno MP 32s prior to these and they feel almost as nice but with much much more forgivness. They do hit a little higher than most true blades but still can work the ball anyway you want. Highly recommend this to someone wanting just a little more help when they slightly mishit the ball but the same great blade feel when struck on the sweet spot! Don't let the price fool you either.
I hit these clubs last year at a demo days event and really like the feel. I have been playing the wilson fi5 irons and like them alot. I am now changing my golf equipment to regular flex shafts instead of stiff because of my swing speed. I got a chance to get the FG tour irons at a good price with the shafts I wanted so I bought them. I am very pleased with these irons. The feel and look at address is great. Wilson has really done it right with these irons. This is one of the best set of irons I have played and I do play alot and have access to lots of other clubs.
Too many golfers are brandwashed, meaning they only play Callaway, Taylormade, Mizuno, or Titleist. If you want a set of forged irons that still offers that buttery feel, with the forgiveness of a cavity back, you should look at these irons. The sole is not wide, topline is not thick, and the ball jumps off the face. If you can get over the fact your buddies will question you for buying a set of Wilson's, then you actually might like these sticks. Sadly though, too many people will still be playing irons that are too hard to hit just because they are not willing to look at everything out there.
