Vintage 1950's CHANEL lighted advertising NPI display perfume sign

You are bidding on a RARE vintage CHANEL lighted sign.  The sign measures 25” wide x 6 ¼” high x 4 ¼” deep.  It is manufactured by Neon Products Incorporated of Lima, OH.   There is no date on the sign but I’m guessing, from the aged labels (see photos), that it was made in the 1950’s.  The sign is constructed of a metal black box with a reverse painted plexiglass insert held in place by a gold metal frame.  The insert is back lit with a florescent bulb.   I found an article that stated that NPI moved from using neon to plexiglass shortly after WWII.   The box can be hung from the black chain or it can stand on the little rubber feet on the bottom.  It weighs 9.5 lbs unpacked.  The sign has a little pull chain switch on the side.  The lamp works.  I have left the sign in original condition. This means it has some wear.  The box paint is worn (see photo) and is nearly gone on the back of the sign.  This could be painted. The gold trim is still brilliant.  The plexiglass has no cracks or breaks but has small surface scratches.  These could be buffed out.  Some of the reverse paint has worn off.  This does not effect it's look when not lit but when on light shines through the worn paint (see photo).  This can be easily repaired. One rubber foot is missing but the original mounting screw is there.  The cord is worn and should be replaced.  I could have easily made the repairs to make it look new but I felt some many value it's original condition.
