Indigo powder is made from the dried, crushed & fermented leaves of the plant Indigofera tinctoria.

Henna is the dried leaves of the plant Lawsonia inermis.

When used together, henna and indigo can dye hair various shades ranging from brown, burgundy or black.

Dyeing your hair with these natural products leaves hair healthy and shiny, and can be used as often as you like. They are 100% natural with no additives.

How to use

2 step process = dye hair with henna first, then dye with indigo to achieve black hair.

Or, mix the indigo with your prepared henna mix to achieve various shades of red/burgundy.

Testing/experimenting is essential as results vary from person to person.

How much do I need?

100gms should be enough to dye medium length, medium thickness hair. If your hair is curly, very long or thick, you will need more. Repeated applications result in deeper, darker colours.

For the best results, dye your hair with henna first. This is especially important if you have grey or greying hair, as without henna the indigo may leave a blue colour in the hair. Make sure to test the henna mixture on a small part of hair before you apply it to your whole head - unless you like surprises!

Dye results vary from person to person and even between different crops of henna and indigo.  Also patch test before applying the herbs as although rare, like any plant matter it is possible to be allergic to henna and indigo.
