Purchased for an EVGA NVidia GTX 970. Replaced the ACX 2.0 stock cooler. This heatsink setup has 5 heat pipelines leading straight into the cpu plate. They flow long and straight away from the cpu block into a large block of aluminum fins. These heatpipes don't twist or turn, which I think is the most efficient way of pulling heat away from the cpu . The unit is quite large, and will take some really fine hand-maneuvering to get the heatsink to mount correct. To make things easier, I removed the 3 fan unit from the heatsink. Just a little prying took half the bulk of size from this project, and allowed easier mounting to the naked video card. Instructions are vague, but are better explained on YouTube. The most time consuming part of this upgrade was the placement of the accessory heatsinks for your memory chips and other areas of heat worry. Believe me it is worth taking the time to do this, as the sinks work very well when properly placed. once everything is placed, you can finish your upgrade and assemble the heatsink to the completed sinked video card. Now the one thing I do wish was better where the speed of the fans. the 3 fans put out a max rpm of about 2100. This is great for low noise. I just wish for about 500 to 1000 more rpm personally. I did run some stress on my GTX 970, 3dmark 11 at 1920x1080, and my temps never went above 49 Celsius. This Arctic Accelero was definitely worth the purchase and time to setup. It is not for the faint of heart, so make sure you do your research before getting one.Read full review

I ordered this to put on my GTX 1070. While the stock cooler worked, it was loud under load, and when idle, the fans would cycle on and off which made a really annoying sound. Installing this cooler wasn't hard at all. For me, removing the stock cooler was pretty easy. I undid seven Phillips screws and gently pried the cooler off with a plastic knife. This cooler comes with an assortment of small aluminum heatsinks and some thermal glue. I attached most of the small heatsinks to the memory chips, VRMs, and MOSFETs and let the glue cure for about an hour. Then I attached the small plastic spacers to the cooler and mounted it on my card using the included screws. With the stock cooler, my GPU would idle around 50C and would get into the low-to-mid 70s under full load while making quite a bit of noise. With this new cooler, my GPU idles in the 30s to 40s and gets into the high 50s to low 60s under load. This is with +100MHz on the core and +250MHz on the VRAM. With the fans turned all the way up (about 2000RPM), it is audible, but nowhere near as loud and whiny as the fans on the stock cooler. With my GPUs stock fan profile, this cooler is inaudible over the other fans in my system and the GPU's coil whine. If you have a GPU that is running loud, hot, or both, I'd suggest looking into getting an aftermarket cooler like this one. Just be aware that this is a heavy cooler, so getting a support bracket might be a good idea.Read full review

This heatsink can do wonders from temps went from 95C reference heatsink hell all the way down to a much more manageable 72C it's very quiet and very good at keeping the gpu it's self cool on an amd r9 290 that can shove out 275watts easy when overclocked. Cooling the main voltage regulator modules VRM1 on that card may be somewhat difficult. I've watched a few videos on how people have attempt to do so using this kit. I've seen a lot of them done with just the 3 semi long heatsinks . I attempted to add a small 4th one on the top end. It would probably be better to get a separate vrm cooling kit but like this it doesn't get much higher than 92C if I keep the fans on high or a fan pointed on the general direction of the vrms with the card being stressed by fur mark Overall the product is very good. It might take some creativity in heatsink placement on an AMD R9 290. especially that bottom memory chip near the pcie slot.Read full review

When paired with 120mm fans it is near silent, and keeps temps very low. It was easy to install, with good instructions. The VRM cooling is sufficient, and works well.

I have to of these coolers and they do great. I have a ITX case that heats up bad and this helped reduce temps and then I had a water block fail and switched to this on my other computer. It was amazing how cool this keeps the cards.
