BMC Streetfire SSX Road Bike
LARGE 56.5cm frame
- completely upgraded from stock -
Originally came with Shimano 105, alloy/alu Easton EA70 fork, alloy/alu Easton EA50 seatpost and ok wheels. This particular bike has been extremely and thoroughly upgraded from the 105/Easton configuration as detailed below into a much better bike (you can search elsewhere on eBay and other sellers are asking $1500-2700 for this same frame in original 105 configuration - I'm a realist and if your paying $1500+ you're probably looking for full carbon, but don't buy cheap/shiet carbon pls, frame design and quality control matters more than "I've got a carbon bike"):
Full Campagnolo Centaur 10 speed Ultra drive groupset (note that Campagnolo de-graded their Centaur crankset when they moved to the outboard bb cup setup - Ultra Torque they called it then - the chain rings were moved to the flimsy 'stamped' variety seen on Veloce and below. This 10spd groupset from the last of the square taper bb days maintains the milled chainrings of Chorus and Record - understand the only difference between Centaur/Chorus and the Record ones was the "EPS coating" - that usually deformed and rusted on early examples anyway. If you've ridden on the stamped Campag chainrings (vs. the milled ones on this steed) you'll understand why this matters).
11-23 rear cluster (to go fast)
F & R brakes
10 speed Ergopower shifters/brifters (NOT with the crap Escape mechanism that Campag trialled on some later Centaur shifters)
Columbus TUSK carbon fork - these sell for $120-200 used on their own
Carbon wing handle bars (these are awesome, never going back to reg bars again)
MAVIC Cosmos wheelset
Carbon seat post (sorry can't remember brand)
Only thing not upgarded is the Easton EA50 stem (these are still sturdy & quality)
Replaced rear gear cable / housing late last year (with original Campag ones of course), headset serviced Feb 2014. Only selling due to numerous (other) upgrades and wanting to complete my vintage Ken Evans steel frame re-build. Only room for one Alu/Carbon steed in my fleet and the Italians win out this time (a Fondriest), plus this is a tad small for my legs. Will suit up to 6'1"/6'2" depending on your cycling inseam.
Bike rolls very nicely, and very fast. The upgraded Columbus TUSK fork gives you much confidence going downhill, have very much enjoyed going down the 1/20 on this.
Integrated Phone holder top cap will be swapped over (to a non-phone holder one)
Time RXS pedals (can include some pedals to get you going, but these are usually a personal thing, plus not many people use the TIME pedals - I think they're awesome, but it's for you...)
Lights and asoc. mounts
Seat/saddle will be replaced with a Specialized one (I'm a little attached to this one, again they're a personal thing)
I can include a correctly sized Truvative Noir T40 titanium bolt seatpost (like this puppy at >$200 http://www.jensonusa.com/!wPa505XiABYU3bB3rK-cuQ!/Truvativ-Noir-T40-Seatpost?utm_source=FRGLAUS&utm_medium=organic&cu=AUD&gclid=CM22-_ipwb0CFUJwvAodEjMAQg) for an extra $50 on top of this auctions final sale price.
Pick up from Melbourne, inner South-Eastern Suburbs (3143) all good.
Not keen on posting - if you insist, bike shop will charge $20-40 to box up and courier costs will vary on your location. e-go and pack n send have depots close to me you can research - usually 100-150, but please source quotes. Greyhound also offer a bus freight service for ~$120 down the east coast, but you'd still have to pay.
Payment w/in 5 days people (CASH ON PICK UP or BANK DEPOSIT for this item pls, PayPal & eBay costs just add up and I will have to pass on these to the winning bidder) - if you need longer, I'm a reasonable guy, and can accommodate, within reason. BUT, I need communication from you w/in 3 days of auction ending - communication is king, long live the king!
