Great size, quick satellite pick up. Down side, if you want a 1/2 way decent topographic map (which is kind of the reason for having this type of GPS) you have to buy it from Garmin, then you need to be a rocket scientist to upload them. Really shouldn't be this hard.

This handheld suits my intended use perfectly. I wanted a device small enough to attach to my mountain bike while trail riding. I also wanted a device that supported paperless Geocaching. The Etrex 20 does both. Memory storage is heaps for what I need and more detailed maps can be bought and installed on the device. Of course there are better and more expensive devices available but this one does everything I need and more.
I knew I'd get only the basic map when I saw an etrex 20 for a decent price. Something like $150 for the additional topographical map so I looked up reviews from ebay and found this map for around $30. Works beautifully without a hitch and I highly recommend it. Call me paranoid but knowing how desperate suppliers can be to keep sales of their own consumables going (to wit, some Printer suppliers selling their own ink refills), but when they want me to update software I take out this map card lest manufacturer does anything mischievous if it finds a generic map card inside.

The maps on the SD card are great and easy to install in Basecamp. The detail is pretty good and the accuracy seems close too.
