C1890 ART NOUVEAU AUSTRIAN FLORAL MANTLE VASES

Absolutely beautiful pair of Austrian Art Nouveau mantle vases. Each vase has a pink rim and a green base, with cream fading into blue on the main body of the vase. The cream handles are pierced, with floral decoration, outlined in deep burgundy. Each vase has the same transfer of flowers on the front and a different one each on the back. 

They are made of an earthenware and are hard to fault. One has an extra nobble of pottery on the foot, at the back, which has been painted over. Very tight age crazing is present but barely noticeable. I think they are drop dead gorgeous! Each vase is a shade under 24 cms high (9 ¼ inch), 13.5 cms wide, excluding handles. The opening at the top is 7.5cm x 4.5cm.
