I didn't like their first album (I found most of the tracks on that one too-straight - all 12-bar chord-change pattern). However, I quite like this one, (first heard it on vinyl about 20 years ago). I find this one quite interesting. If you like prog-rock, and don't mind a bit of jazzy brass with it, then I think you'll like this one. "The Kettle" (first track) is noticeably different to the rest of the tracks because it is just guitar, bass, vocals & drums, and it's a real late-60's up-tempo heavy rock number, a bit like Zeppelin, and just as good. I gave that 5 stars (on my iTunes Rating) as well as my edit of the title track, and "Elegy". I gave the rest 4 stars except for "The Machine Demands A Sacrifice" which I gave 3. The value is good because it contains two bonus tracks (that weren't on the original vinyl album), both of which I gave 4 stars (after editing out a minute or two from each). The only disappointing aspects for me were: a lack of a booklet, and lack of clear track listings (the whole front, middle & back covers seem to be photographic reductions of the original). Also, the combining of all three (and all long) parts of the title track into one track was a bit disappointing. But I'm glad I bought it.Read full review
