1 x “Dine-a-Chook” Storm cover - other manufactures recognise the benefits of our cover and have made an attachment to fit their existing water catching tray. 4 x German made Rear Hooks - (two for drinker, two for feeder). We have sourced the best hooks available for this application. Made in Germany. They are UV stabilized. These hooks are secured with two (each hook) 316 Stainless Steel Screws. (Not Galvanised screws that will rust) Together these two components make the ultimate mounting system. The system has been tested to hold over 30kg.

4 x Custom Metal mounting brackets (Australian Made) - custom-made and very heavy-duty. These metal mounting brackets are square in section, manufactured for us to suit the supplied hook.

When most people buy chickens, local pet stores will offer the conventional style feeder which looks like an upside down plant plot on a tray. This style of feeder is the beginning of many issues that the owner will soon become familiar with. Wasted feed, Wet/spoiled Feed, Rats and other rodents including birds and very quick deterioration from the harsh Australian Sun. We took all of these issues into account when developing this feeder.

Wasted Feed – With the Dine-a-Chook, the chicken must put its head into the feeder in order to access the feed. The natural flicking action as the chicken eats is not an issue any longer. The feed remains within the confines of this unique system. Chickens learn how to use this feeder very quickly!

Wet Feed – With our unique Storm Cover attachment, your feed is protected. Although we do not claim ‘Rain Proof’ We can confirm that with above average rainfall this year in Tropical North Queensland (Townsville), we did not clean our feeder once! Rats and other rodents including birds – A very big problem! One that we gave much thought to when developing this product. Conventional feeders including everything else listed on eBay will NOT keep your chook pen rodent Free. Rodents are attracted to the wasted feed on the ground, and open feeder designs. The Dine-a-Chook wastes less than 1% of feed when mounted correctly. This feature is one that no other feeder on the market can guarantee.

Like most people I was looking for a way to combat feed loss to wild birds. I looked at several solutions and decided to try this one. After 3 weeks I can say the feeders are a complete success and are rapidly paying for themselves. They are durable, simple, thoughtfully designed and reasonably priced. I also bought the drinkers, which I didn't think I needed so much. The chooks however love them and were using them in seconds. These are good products and I recommend them.

Believe me there is nowhere a minor could perch on these feeders as there is a bit of a roof over the top (even without the extra bit) not to mention nowhere for their feet to get a grip

Dear Dine-a-Chook

I just wanted to pass on my feedback.  I have had the feeder installed for two days.  Some birds are very unhappy, and some are very happy.

The pigeons and sparrows don’t know what to do with themselves!  Before we would have hordes of them flying in when I put out food.  Now they are getting none.  It is fantastic.  I still keep checking to see if the birds have figured it out, but I am fairly sure they couldn’t fit in it – especially not the doves / pigeons.

The chooks took about half a day to be really comfortable eating out of it.  I have 4 full size chooks and I bantam.  I have adjusted the height to suit the bantam, but she has no problems at all.  In fact, I think it is great for the two different sized birds, because she would be picked on and pecked away before.  Now she may get a peck on the back when she is eating, but now it is only on her back.  And I know now, that she can go back to feeding when the others are finished and she won’t miss out.

I have even found it can be portable.  I tie it up in their run during the day, and just relocate it out in the backyard when they want to free range.  No problems.  Yet to work out a more portable fixing solution than tying up.

Overall, very, very happy with the product.  Even my husband is impressed.  We had chook food all over the shed floor before – now we have just about zero wastage.  Will keep you updated if we have any issues / comments, but thank you for a great product.  Have a great Easter!
