Q: What do the different grades mean?
A: Our Remy Human Hair extensions are measured in Grades. All the hair we sell is 100% Remy human hair however the lower the grade, the cheaper the price and the lowest longevity of the hair extensions.

Grade A is 100% Remy human hair that has been subjected to more basic production processes than higher graded hair but remains a top seller in the hair industry due to its low prices. Grade A hair will last 2-3 months on average when maintained correctly.

Grade AA is 100% Remy human hair that is processed to create a more conditioned, longer lasting hair which can take more washes and stay looking soft, shiny and healthy for longer. Grade AA hair will last 3-4 months on average when maintained correctly.

Grade AAA 100% Remy human hair goes through higher and longer quality control process to ensure it stays soft, shiny & tangle free for loner and is suitable for extended wear. It is very strong and durable and will last 4-6 months on average when maintained correctly.

Grade AAAA is the highest quality processed 100% Remy human hair that is available. It has such strength that it is similar in condition to Virgin hair. The AAAA grade hair started life as Virgin hair which has then been gently coloured to bring you a wide variety of natural looking European colours. The ratio of long hairs is extremely high and it is often double drawn so there will be no tapering towards the ends. It will remain soft, sleek and healthy for 6-9 months+ when maintained correctly.

Virgin hair (AAAAA Grade) is the best quality hair your money can buy. The name 'Virgin' means that the hair is still in it's pure form and it hasn't been dyed/bleached or chemically treated in any way. It is completely un-processed and has just been cleaned before being made into a weft or pre-bonded extensions. Because of this the hair stays softer and lasts much longer with great shine. Virgin hair is the Ferrari of the human hair world. It is extremely strong and durable and this hair will last 1-2 years if maintained correctly.


The Extensions



Q: What type of Hair is used in Extensions?

A: We use 100% Remy Human Hair in our Hair Extensions. Nothing beats the versatility of remy human hair extensions. Our Remy human hair extensions can be straightened or curled with heated tongs.


Q: What is Remy hair?

A: Remy hair begins its life as raw or virgin hair. Women will let their hair grow out and then sell it to fashion companies for a profit. Women who do this are required to take excellent care of their hair during this time and keep it in its natural, un-dyed, un-processed state. They cannot bleach, colour or chemically alter their hair in anyway, thus only high quality hair is sold. Remy hair also keeps its cuticle intact, which is the outer layer of the hair strand. When all the platelets that form the cuticle go in the same direction, it reflects light, causing your hair to shine. Because remy hair is usually well taken care of, it allows for that natural shine in your hair to stand out. Because remy hair is all natural, it takes a lot of time to grow. This means that if you want to get Remy hair extensions, your looking at anywhere from £30-£250 depending on length, colour, wefts and style. Remy hair will blend in seamlessly into yours and act the same way. Remy hair comes at a much higher quality, and therefore a higher cost.

Q: How are Remy Hair Extensions made?
A: Remy hair extensions are made from high quality hair that is cut from the head as opposed to being made in a factory. What usually distinguishes it from other hair is that the cuticle (outer layer) of the hair strand is still intact. Usually, it comes from Asian countries, but it can come from anywhere. One of the reasons Asian countries are so popular is because of certain religious customs; especially Hindu temples, which are the top producer of Remy hair and hair extensions. Oftentimes people will cut their hair as a gift of appreciation for their deity. The priests then take this hair and sell it. At 9 million people doing this a year, at £75 a kilogram, that’s a fair bit of cash. The most sought after is long, lustrous, black hair, which can sell for £120 a kilogram. There are also those who grow it out, and then sell it themselves for a little extra cash. Who doesn’t want to get paid to cut their hair right?

Q: How is the Remy Hair processed?
A: After the hair is cut, it is grouped into 5 categories based on how curly or straight it is. After that, the hair is cleaned and combed to make it look really nice. The hair is now ready to be shipped to whoever wants it. Popular uses include mixing it with similar colored hair and making wigs and hair extensions or sold to the cosmetology industry. Hollywood is the single biggest consumer of remy hair, spending thousands of pounds on hair extensions.

Q: How long do the extensions last?

A: This will depend on the grade purchased and how well they are cared for. Although it is 100% human hair, it will not recieve the same nutrients from your scalp as your natural hair does and therefore needs more care and attention, including the use of specialist extension products. The more carefully you look after them the longer they will last.


Q: How to tell human hair from synthetic hair?

A: Human hair has natural protein. It is easy to tell by burning and smell: human hair will turn to ash, which will go away after pinching. Human hair will smell foul. When burning, the human hair will show white smoke. While synthetic hair will be a sticky ball after burning and will show black smoke.


Q: How many packets of hair do I need to purchase for a full head?

A: All our wefts are full wefts meaning they are 100g or more. Most people will require one or two packs of hair or approximately 200 strands of pre-bonded hair (100-200g hair weight) for a full head, however this can vary depending on the style you are wishing to create, how thick your hair is, how wide your head is, how thick you want the extensions and the method used to fit them.

Care & Usage

Q: Can they be straightened, curled or tonged?

A: Yes, simply because it’s real human hair you can straighten and curl the hair. This actually is a test in itself to know if you are not being sold a synthetic product.Use a flat iron/ straightener or tongs, even when fitted, but as with your own hair, never use hot tools too often as this will dry out the hair and it will not last as long.

Q: Can I colour the hair?

A: Some brands of human hair products state that the hair can by dyed however we do not recommend dying our hair extensions because the dye that is used on extension hair is different to that used to dye your own hair. It is often “stained” rather than dyed to ensure the colour will not fade or wash out and this process uses salts to adhere the colour to the extension. These salts can remain on the cuticle of the hair and mean that regular hair dyes will not adhere to the actual hair extension. Dyeing the hair yourself can also cause damage to the extension hair cuticle.

Q: Can I wash & blow-dry the hair extensions?

A: Yes. You can wash them as you would your own using specialist extension shampoo and conditioner. We also recommend using a hair treatment on them every few weeks, because the hair is not attached to your scalp, it is not getting the oils it should be. Using a treatment/hair mask will help keep them looking healthier and shiny for longer! You will find that you don`t need to wash your extensions too much, once a week is adequate. The extensions can be blow-dryed on low setting, but it is not recommended to do it too often. It is best to let your hair extensions dry naturally after washing them.

Q: How often should I wash my hair extensions?

A: You should only wash hair a maximum of twice a week with extensions.

Q: How do I pay for my order?

A: We accept two payment methods online, one is by credit card (via paypal - you do not need a paypal account). The other one is PayPal direct transfer (paypal account required). You will be directed to the PayPal login page once you check out your basket.

Q: Can I pay through Paypal with my credit card?

A: Yes, you can choose the paypal option and you will be asked to fill in your credit card information to fulfill the transaction.

Q: How long do you take to despatch an order?

A: Most items are posted within 2-3 working days unless otherwise stated. Ebay states the maximum handling & delivery time of 5 working days which is why your estimated delivery time may seem much longer but 99% of items arrive much much sooner. Please see our Delivery page for more information.

Q: Do you post internationally?

A: Yes we do however international items may be subject to customs charges, VAT and/or Import duty charges in your country. These are un-foreseeable and must be paid by the buyer.

Q: Do you offer next day delivery?

A: Unfortunately we are unable to post everyday. We have a handling time on all of our items which ranges from 1-5 working days depending on the item so if you pay for special delivery please do not expect the item to arrive the next day - it will be posted asap within the stated handling time. You will receive the item the next day AFTER it has been posted, not from when you purchase it. Please see our delivery page for more information.

Q: Why does it say 'special'/'Express'/'Next Day' delivery in the listing if you don't post the item out the same day?

A: Handling times & Delivery times are not the same thing. “Handling” is the time taken to process your order before it is dispatched. “Delivery” is the time is takes to arrive to you after it has been dispatched. Next day delivery is next day from when it is posted, not from when you order.

Q: Do you post everyday?

Q: What is the difference between handling & delivery times?

Q: Can I collect my order to save on postage?

A: No sorry, we are an e-commerce company only and as such we cannot offer a 'collection' service. All our items are for delivery only.


Q: Do you sell colour rings?

A: Yes, we sell 8 different colour rings for each type of hair we sell. Colour rings are not universal which is why we have so many different ones. If you do not which to purchase a colour ring we also offer a colour matching service.

Q: Do you have free colour samples/swatches?

A: No, we don't have free 'colour' samples but we do have sample packs for buyers to check the quality of the different grades. For a colour match you can send us a sample or purchase one of our colour rings.

Q: What is the colour matching service?

A: You can send us a snippet of your hair or some old extensions for us to match up the colour for you.

Q: Do you offer free samples?

A: No we don't however we do sell sample packs which contain all our different types of hair. All of our hair products are also available to purchase in very small 20 or 25 strand quantities for buyers to check the quality before committing to a larger order.

Q: Can I email you a photo to match the colour up for me?

A: On screen colours can vary dependant on the brightness and resolution of your computer so an on screen picture or emailed photograph may appear a different colour on our screen than it does on yours. For this reason, we cannot accurately match a colour to an online photo/picture. You would need to send us a physical sample.


Q: Do you accept returns?

A: If an item is unsuitable you may return to eXtensionelle in accordance with the DSR Act 2000. However there are some exceptions and in accordance with the DSR act, “certain goods by reason of their nature cannot be returned”. Hair extensions fall into this category as they are a hygiene sensitive product however we will accept a return providing a few conditions are adhered to. Please see our returns policy for more information.

Q: Can I return an opened item?

A: No, not unless it is faulty. This is for health and hygeine reasons to ensure the safety of yourself and our other customers. (If you return products that have been removed from the packaging, or a product that has been worn, you will be liable to pay the return postage back to you as they will not be accepted for hygiene reasons).

Q: Do you charge a re-stock fee?

A: Yes, our re-stock fee is 15% of the value of the item.

Q: Are there any other return costs?

A: Your refund will be issued minus the p&p charge incurred to send you the goods and a 15% re-stock fee.

Q: Do you accept returns on all items?

A: Some items are custom ordered/made-to-order and these cannot be returned. These items include: Chinese Remy Stick tipped hair, Virgin hair, European Bohyme hair and our Russian hair. If an item is custom ordered is will state in the listing.

Please note, Handling times & Delivery times are not the same thing. “Handling” is the time taken to process your order before it is dispatched. “Delivery” is the time is takes to arrive to you after it has been dispatched. We accept no responsibility for the delivery time once your order has left our premises as this is now down to Royal Mail or the Courier, however every effort will be made to ensure it reaches you on time.

We do not post items on Mondays, Weekends or Bank Holidays.

Handling Time

Regretfully we are unable to offer next day delivery on most of our items at the moment. All items are posted as soon as possible within a maximum of 5 working days. We aim to send out items within 1-3 working days however some items are custom ordered and will take up to 5 working days to arrive. Please always allow yourself a maximum of 5 working days for your item/s to arrive before contacting us.

If there is a problem with your order and we are unable to get it out to you within our stated handling time then we will contact you within 24 hours to advise you of this.

Orders placed after 1pm will be processed on the next working day.

Please contact us if you require an item for a certain date and we will be able to let you know if this will be possible.

Dispatch Guidelines

The following are estimated dispatch guidelines. The actual dispatch date will depend on the item you ordered i.e if it is a custom order item then it will take longer to dispatch (or if there is a bank holiday), however you can use the following as a rough guide to work out when you will receive your item.

Payment received between 1pm Thursday and 1pm Monday    item will be dispatched on Tuesday.

Payment received before 1pm Tuesday – item will be dispatched Wednesday.

Payment received before 1pm Wednesday -  item will be dispatched on Thursday.

Payment received before 1pm Thursday – item will be dispatched Friday.


We will NOT post to an unconfirmed address. The only address we will ever post to is the one you have registered with eBay and/or PayPal and which comes up on our invoice for you after you have clicked by it now. This is to ensure we are covered by PayPal’s seller protection policy. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Items Lost in Transit

Royal Mail suggest waiting at least 30 days for delivery of any parcel before a claim form can be submitted for a parcel deemed as lost in transit. (This allows time for a parcel to be collected from the Royal Mail/Courier collections office if no one was home when they attempted delivery, or for the parcel to be returned back to us if it was not collected by you).

In the unlikely event that your parcel is lost in transit, please contact Royal Mail directly by calling 08457 740740. A member of their customer service team will be happy to assist you in completing their on-line claim form for your lost parcel.

Unfortunately, we have no control over their investigations relating to this, however, we are able to provide you with any shipping information, including the tracking number if applicable, which can all be found in the email we send you confirming that your parcel has been dispatched.

Goods sent out on Royal Mail standard or recorded delivery will be insured by Royal Mail for up to £47 only. Special Delivery insures items upto £500.

If an item is unsuitable you may return to eXtensionelle in accordance with the DSR Act 2000.  However there are some exceptions and in accordance with the DSR act, “certain goods by reason of their nature cannot be returned”. Hair extensions fall into this category as they are a hygiene sensitive product.

We as a company will accept a return on most items however because 90% of the items we sell are hygiene sensitive products, there are certain conditions that must be adhered to before we can accept a return. Please see our returns section: for full information on how to return an item.

Some items are made to order or ordered in specifically for a customer. These items are custom orders and cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances. Custom order items include;

Faulty Goods

If hair extensions or products appear faulty due to quality issues, the fault must be reported to us within 1 month of the purchase date due to human hair being a consumable item during wear. We require any faulty hair back in full for testing and examination.

 Hair must be received by us within 7 days of the reported date before any further damage can occur. If no fault is present, or the hair has been damaged in any way by the customer due to poor application or aftercare, we will not issue a refund or replacement.

 We recommend the use of specialist hair extension products such as Balmain or X-10 hair care products on all of our extensions. We refuse the right for a refund if specialist hair extension products have not been used to maintain the hair correctly. Regular retail based products such as herbal essences, loreal, Aussie etc contain sulphates, citric acid and sodium chloride levels which are too harsh for extensions causing them to dry out and as such become brittle, snap off and or tangle easily. Asian Hair Extensions will last 2 months + with continuous wear if applied and maintained correctly.

 Due to false promises to return goods to us in the past we regret that we are unable to send replacements until the faulty product has been returned to us. In the event of a fault being investigated you agree to allow us sufficient time for these tests to be undertaken, this may take up to 30 working days.

 Refunds or exchanges given for faulty hair extensions will only be given to the equivalent value of hair returned to us.  If you return only part of your order then only a part refund or replacement will be given. By accepting these upon  purchasing goods from eXtensionelle, you agree to abide by our Terms & conditions of Sale.


Due to the lack of control we have over application and operation procedures for the use of glue, glue guns and other application products, our manufacturers and eXtensionelle cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any damage or injury caused to third parties. The purchaser must determine if the glue, glue gun or any other products are suitable for their particular requirements, and that all products are to be used for professional use only.

 Returns will not be accepted after 7 days unless goods are faulty. Goods are not considered faulty if their condition deteriorates due to poor hair management or poor application of extensions. We accept no responsibility for hair extensions which are not cared for correctly. After-care advice should be followed or sought if you are unsure how to care for extensions prior to buying. eXtensionelle does not accept any responsibility for hair that has been coloured or altered in any way after purchase.

If you choose to send back your return or exchange via unrecorded post, we will not be held liable for any delay or loss. This is in accordance with all UK legislation.



Colour Rings & Our Colour Matching Service

We understand that trying to match your colour from a computer screen is difficult so we sell a range of colour rings for this purpose under hair extension accessories.

We also offer a colour matching service which will suit those who only wish to buy one or two wefts. Just send us small hair sample (either of your hair or some old extensions that match) and we will match your colour for you and email you with the closest match. If you wish to do this, please include your name, email address and the full title of the hair you want the sample matching up to (as we have many types available each with their own colour ring). Please be aware that the colours stated in the listing and shown on the online colour charts are offered as a guide only and can vary depending on the resolution & brightness of your computer. Also, colour shades can and do differ for each type of hair and supplier so a colour on one colour ring won’t necessarily be the same colour number on all colour rings which is why we sell a different colour ring for each type of hair we sell.
