One of my reasons for buying this Laptop was that my 15 year old Son will need a Special type of Laptop to enter Year 10 next year and beyond. I did first buy him the Asus Transformer 10" that the school asked all of us to buy, but looking through ebay I come across a couple of bigger Laptops that would suit him better than a small 10" which after he finish school nothing we would be able to use it for. Now this one I had decided on was this Asus Transformer Book which is also a Tablet on it own as well. It has 2 Hard Drives, 1 for the tablet @ 120GB SSD and its own Battery with up to 8 hours of use on its own or if you keep it together with the keyboard part the extra Battery in there is up to 5 hours, so you can have as much as 13 hours if needed. The Bottom Keyboard System also has its own 500GB Hard Drive, separate to the Top Tablet System and it only weighs 0.90kg Top and 0.95kg Bottom, Less than 2.00Kg Total. The only thing we were missing from the small Asus 10" Deal was it comes with Microsoft Office 2013 already installed, but I have 5 Copies of Microsoft Office 365 that I can download, so 1 was downloaded onto the Asus TX300. And because it has 2 USB Ports I added a Mouse as well. Same as Trend Micro Titanium Security 2014 which I also copied over onto it, instead of having to buy McFee Security as well. At least we can use this Asus Laptop after he finishes School sometime in the next 3 years. The Asus TX300 13.3" is a Intel Pentium i5 but it doesn't have a built in DVD Drive so I have a Internal Asus Blu-Ray Drive I purchased last year for my Father, "Who has passed away" so I can use that for him. It is all set up now already for Him to Attend Year 10 in 2015 and I still have the Small Asus H100 10" set up as well but with McFee Security on that one instead. I am very happy with both my Asus Laptop, but for some extra Money Up Front You Would Not Find Anything Better. I am really happy the way it turned out for my Son, and if he picks the Asus TX300 13.3" I am sure one his friends will take the Smaller Asus 10" off us. Kind Regards, Ron Stevens.Read full review
I'm a university student, so I wanted a device that I could use during school, and also play some games during free time. I originally had a HP laptop and it was clunky and the processing was a bit slow so I opted for the ASUS transformer book and I was really happy with it. It was slim and aesthetically it looks great, I snaps off and you can use it as a tablet (which I use during class) or pop on the keyboard and type assignments. The versatility made it a big tick in my books. The processing speed is great, despite being small it runs efficiently, using the internet it opens up browsers quickly and there;s good memory too. The one negative about it, is that you have to have the keyboard connected to have the USB port available. It would be easier if it was connected to the tablet screen part (like the charger cord) but that would be the only drawback to an otherwise great tablet/laptop. Does the job perfectly!Read full review
I bought this product to take to work and university. It enables me to do my assignments while at these places. Also when I am watching TV on my other laptop I am still able to use this one to surf the net and study. It functions well, a bit slow at times but that could be due to my internet connection. I would buy this product again, it is a tablet and laptop in one. Very easy to carry around and good battery life.
I have brought this laptop before. Dead after using a few weeks. Stay in service centre for 2 to 3 weeks to fix. Not happy. No reference.
