E-MU Proteus VIRTUOSO 2000 Rackmount Synthesizer - with Orchestral Session ROM - Volume 1 and Volume 2

This is for an E-MU Proteus Virtuoso 2000 rackmount synthesizer and the 2 Orchestral Session Expansion ROMs - Volume 1 and Volume 2. The unit is in excellent condition and has spent its time with me in my rack in my smoke-free studio and everything works. There are the normal rack scratches, but nothing on the front or the display.

This unit comes with 2 expansion ROMs - Orchestral Session Volume 1 and Volume 2. The unit has 2 empty ROM slots for sound expansion. Please check out my other listings since I have a number of ROM chips for sale with a huge variety of sounds. It comes with 512 preset sounds in the USER ROM and these are a wide array of all kinds of incredible Orchestral sounds. This unit was specifically marketed as a complete symphonic orchestra.

I am changing my studio configuration and will no longer have room for this unit. It is a wonder and has a great library of sounds. The manufacturer's specs are below.

Everything in the picture will come with the unit. No manual.

From the Proteus website: The Virtuoso 2000 is a 128-voice orchestral sound module with 512 Presets for sounds - an entire orchestra in a single rack space! Featuring the "Orchestral Session" soundsets from E-mu, the sounds are great and they include violins, violas, celli, double basses, trumpets, French horns, trombones, bass trombones, tubas, piccolos, flutes, oboes, English horn, clarinets, bass clarinets, bassoons, contra bassoons, harp, orchestral bells, tubular bells, bell trees, celeste, xylophone, marimba and a  percussion battery with over 20 instruments. With 128 voices, 32 MIDI channels, lightning-fast MIDI response and over 500 sounds, you can create the largest of orchestral ensembles.

Orchestral Session ROM Volume 1: This 32MB ROM offers you the most realistic and comprehensive collection of section strings available - the same sounds featured in this Virtuoso 2000 sound module, complete with legato, spiccato, pizzicato and tremolande samples, and includes special presets for 4 speaker applications. It also offers you 32MB of world-class section strings that were all sampled from the same professional symphony orchestra under ideal conditions. Additional samples were recorded from the audience seats, allowing you to blend more or less natural hall sound into your presets. E-MUs sound designers then crafted these samples into more than just a collection of orchestral sounds - they built a true virtual orchestra that is second to none in realism and consistency across all of its instrument sections. Combined with its companion ROM, Orchestral Sessions Vol. 2 (woodwinds, brass, percussion and solo strings) - that is also in the Virtuoso unit, E-MU puts a complete professional orchestra at your fingertips.

Orchestral Session ROM Volume 2: This 32MB ROM offers you the most realistic and comprehensive collection of woodwinds, brass, percussion and solo strings available - the same sounds featured in this Virtuoso 2000 sound module, complete with velocity switching between p/mf/ff samples, special presets for 4 speaker application and a percussion battery with over 20 instruments.
