Elvis Presley returns to the Aloha Sate for another filling of Aloha life. This is Elvis Presley 3rd movie in Hawaii. The first two was Blue Hawaii and Girls! Girls! Girls!. If Elvis Presley didn't live in Memphis, he might want to live on a Hawaii island. Rick Richards (Elvis Presley) has lost his job as an airline pilot. So as the movie opens, Rick is heading to Hawaii. He is greeted by his old pal Danny Kohana (James Shigeta). Rick wants to open is own business with Danny. His own charter helicopter service. One day Rick is ordered to fly some dogs. But a problem occurs when Rick gets distracted and acidentally causes a car of an FAA offical into a ditch. His pilot license is suspeneded. So one day Danny heads out to fix this mess. Leaving Rick to watch his daughter named Jan Kohana (Donna Butterworth). Elvis takes Jan and a woman named Lani out for a good time. But Rick loses the keys to the helicopter. When Danny returns to the office Rick's secretary (Suzanna Leigh) tells him that Rick and his daughter are out of the office. Danny fidns Rick and his dauhgter and drops Rick out of his partnership. When Rick finally gets back to the office, Rick finds out that Danny and an hasn't returned. He goes out and searchs for them. But Danny is hurt and Rick flies him to a hospital.

Elvis Aaron Presley (January 8, 1935 – August 16, 1977; middle name sometimes spelled Aron) was an American singer, actor, and musician. A cultural icon, he is commonly known simply as Elvis and is also sometimes referred to as "The King of Rock 'n' Roll" or "The King". Presley began his career in 1953 as one of the first performers of rockabilly, an uptempo fusion of country and rhythm and blues with a strong back beat. His novel versions of existing songs, mixing "black" and "white" sounds, made him popular—and controversial—as did his uninhibited stage and television performances. Presley had a versatile voice and had unusually wide success encompassing many genres, including rock and roll, gospel, blues, country, ballads and pop. To date, he is the only entertainer that has been inducted into four music halls of fame. In the 1960s, Presley made the majority of his 31 movies, most of which were poorly reviewed but financially successful musicals. In 1968, he returned to live performances in a television special, and performed across the U.S., notably in Las Vegas. In 1973, Presley staged the first global live concert via satellite (Aloha from Hawaii), reaching at least one billion viewers live and an additional 500 million on delay. Throughout his career, he set records for concert attendance, television ratings and recordings sales. He is one of the best-selling and most influential artists in the history of music, selling over one billion records internationally. Health problems, prescription drug dependence, and other factors led to his death at age 42.

WHAT IS A FILM HERALD?

Heralds were made from the 1910s to the 1960s. Theaters would order heralds by the thousands (they usually cost around $3 per thousand!). They would then hire people to stand on busy street corners and pass them out to all who walked by. Since the vast majority of people looked at the herald for a moment and then threw it away, it is not surprising that not many heralds survive. In Europe many heralds were simply printed on a two sided piece of paper.  One side was printed with graphics (often colorful) and artwork from the film and the back side could be blank or in many cases would have information about the film and/or where or when it was playing.  Most American heralds were on a single sheet of paper that was folded in half, creating four small pages. The front of the herald usually has just the title of the movie and images of the stars (like a small poster) and the two middle pages usually have a lot of information about the movie along with more images (and sometimes these images are found nowhere but the herald). The back page is usually blank for the theater to print in their name and play dates, to let people know where the movie was playing and when. Sometimes one or more of the pages were full-color, and often some of the pages were two-color. A herald is usually the most inexpensive way to get an original item from a classic movie! Most pressbooks would have a sample herald glued in to the first or last page of the pressbook.
