Our ammolite and opals are genuine 100% natural.  They are not imitations and have had no treatments in any way unless you find this stated clearly in the above item discription section under 'treatments'. 

Ammolite is fragile and flakey.   So it is a very common practice to stabilize stones by coating them in resin or epoxy for protection against further deterioration.  For our treated gems we only use a high quality anti 'UV' coating which is guaranteed not to discolor.

When makng a purchase I would always expect the item(s) to be represented accurately and we will always try to display the gem as best as possible.  Ammolite and opals are notoriously difficult to photograph and always have a better appearance in the hand.  By far the best way to view an ammolite or opal is with natural sunlight.  Different light sources can enhance and even change certain colors in many gemstones and this is certainly true with ammolite and opal. 

Photograph's are taken through digital camera under a 50 Watt light bulb.  (no flash)  You will notice in most cases they have been taken and presented in a sequence to help show the movement / play of color.
