Engine & Coolant Temperature alarm

Description: C:\Users\Steve\Desktop\monitor\EngineDRAFT1_files\image001.jpg

The temperature monitor / alarm can monitor both coolant and engine simultaneously.

It has TWO thermocouples, one of which is a standard probe type and can be fitted to an inline hose coupling, available at most auto-stores or even pushed, (carefully) between the fins of your radiator, epoxied or using a compression fitting secured into a coolant reservoir or any other method you can think of for reaching the coolant with the probe.

That is of course presuming you want to measure the temperature of your coolant, it could just as easily be your engine oil, diff oil, whatever you like.

The other thermocouple uses any bolt that is available, say on the thermostat housing, head, rocker covers bolt anywhere really that you want to measure the temperature of. It doesn’t even have to be the engine it could be a transmission or diff, anything with a bolt.

You can use one or both probes, it doesn’t matter.  If you decide you only need the bolt-on probe just roll up the other probe cable out of harms way and forget about it, or visa-versa.

The 3 digit LCD display continually shows the temperature of the hottest probe with a symbol to indicate which is the hottest at that moment in time.

You can set your own alarm temperature from minus 40c to plus 125c, (-40 might be a little on the cool side) when the pre-set temperature is reached on either probe a visual and audible alarm is triggered. Saving your engine and/or transmission, plus a lot of time and expense.

The supplied probes come with 2m of twin sheathed, twin shielded cable. This helps protect the inner cable from heat and interference. It’s good quality cable that can be shortened or lengthened by yourself if you are happy to sever the cable and join it to another cable or cut a piece out to shorten it. Personally I just cable tie the excess out of the way.

The unit can be powered by any DC, (battery) source from 12volts up to and including 24 volts. I have two vehicles, one monitor is wired directly to a power source behind the dashboard the other is wired to a plug into the car cigarette lighter. It could be powered from 240v via a transformer if

you wanted to use it for something other than monitoring the temperature in a vehicle. An aquarium perhaps, or something like that.

It comes fitted with two quick release / quick fit sliders that make it easy to secure the unit into a dashboard or mounting with a hole cut to the dimension of the unit. That is if you want to. Mine is velcro’d under the dashboard.

I would guess that anyone reasonably happy with DIY vehicle maintenance or fitting accessories could fit this unit in a couple of hours.

The front panel is IP54 certified when flush mounted and the unit is shock proof which makes it suitable for severe car, marine, truck and 4x4 applications. The housing measures 75mm x 38mm x 70mm and is made in black ABS plastic

If you have a problem with one of our units then so do we !

We have never had a faulty unit. We are so confident in the quality of these monitors we offer a NO QUIBBLE return policy.

Send us the monitor back we will send you another by return post !
