At Blackburn Distributions we specialise in the supply of sports supplements, nutritional products, pharmaceutical excipients and laboratory products. Through our time in the industry we have gathered a wealth of valuable contacts, which means we source the highest quality products at the most competitive market prices. We originally started trading bulk sweeteners in 2004 and over time our product line has evolved to meet our customers’ needs. These are divided into six product categories that can be seen on our product page.

Processing of orders
We aim to pack and dispatch all goods purchased within 1 working day provided they are in stock. If the goods are out of stock we will provide notification and advise a date of delivery. Once goods have been dispatched you will receive a notification email containing tracking details if applicable. Goods are dispatched by the following methods
Royal Mail First Class recorded
We aim to deliver First Class letters the next working day after posting but can take a few extra days on occasion. Your goods will insured for up to £39. We use this option for all UK orders below £50 and below 2kg in weight.
This is a next day delivery service which offers tracking of parcels and comes with £50 of insurance. We use this for all UK orders above 2kg or £50 in value.
Royal mail Airmail
For items up to 2kg we use royal mail Airmail Small packet service. Airmail Small Packets to Western Europe takes from three days after posting, to Eastern Europe is from four days and to countries outside Europe from five days approximately. Royal mail uses an independent market research company to help maintain our delivery standards by monitoring delivery times to 21 countries.
For items over 2kg they will be dispatched with DHL and take the following delivery times
Western Europe in 2-3 working days
Eastern Europe in 3-4 working days
Rest of world in 4-5 working days
Goods come with £50 insurance and are fully trackable
s of over 100kg in weight will be shipped using Fagan & Whalley distribution and will be delivered on a pallet. This takes 3 working days and goods are trackable and insured. International orders will require you to contact us to make suitable arrangements at Please use eBay messaging system
The cost of shipping is calculated based on the products weight and the destination country but is grouped into UK, Western Europe, Eastern Europe and rest of the world. We make no profit on shipping, this is not how we operate and try to provide the cheapest and most reliable option in every case. As such we provide links to all our couriers websites so customer can check prices themselves or see if larger orders are more cost effective! We include insurance on all our shipping options as standard.
Our products are packaged in 4 different formats which is dependant upon weight/bulk density of the product.
Small Quantities (10g to 900g)
Small items are packed in high density polythene ziplock bags which are then heat sealed in a second polythene bag and includes a certificate of analysis. These are then shipped in envelopes, if multiple items are bought we may ship in a box.
One Kilo Quantities (1kg)
One kilo items are packaged in pharmaceutical grade plastic containers with a tamperproof lid, certificates of analysis are also provided alongside these products. These are shipped in box also.
Bulk Quantities (2kg - 15kg)
Bulk powders are double packed in polythene bags which are sealed with a unique numbered bag ties and then shipped in boxes.
Wholesale Quantities (25kg+)
Twenty five kilo orders are shipped in sealed fibre drums or double walled cardboard boxes.
Payment & Dispatch
Payment can be made via card, paypal, cheque, bank transfer and . Please note payment via cheque and bank transfer may take a few days to clear our bank and goods will only be dispatched once payment has cleared. Further information on international payments can be found here
Once payment has been made you will receive an invoice via email and an estimated time of delivery. Goods that are in stock will be dispatched within 1-2 working days via the selected delivery method. Once goods have been dispatched you will receive a tracking number and how to track your item via email, if this is applicable to your order.
In accordance with the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, we provide clear information including details of the goods or services offered, delivery arrangements and payment and the supplier's details. This can be taken as the provision of this information in writing. You have the right to cancel the goods within seven working days, known as the “cooling off” period which should be notified in writing. Should the buyer decide to cancel their order after the goods have been dispatched they are liable for the cost of the postage as paid at the time of purchase. This is to prevent any issues with trust between ourselves and customers- so far we have never had to refer to the above legislation and long may this continue!
Return of defective products should be notified immediately. Goods will be replaced/ refunded as appropriate. Damage in transit should be brought to the courier’s attention at time of delivery. Returns will only be accepted if goods are un-opened due to the nature of the goods. If the seal on this product has been broken, it will not be possible to return the item because of the risk of contamination. Administration fees are applicable and postage costs are to be paid for by buyer.

How long does delivery take?
On orders placed before 11am we guarantee the item(s) will be dispatched the same day. UK are sent recorded delivery and will be delivered the Next Working Day. International orders can take from 2 working days to 14 working days dependant upon location and customs. This is of course dependent on payment and stock availability. If the order is placed AFTER 11am on Friday, the order will be dispatched the following Monday for next working day delivery on Tuesday.
Can I track my item?
Yes, all deliveries are trackable. Most orders will have the tracking number emailed to you with help on how to track your item.
Tracking numbers are only active and trackable 2 hours after the order has been collected from our warehouse, at approximately 8pm (GMT/BST).
If you place your order AFTER 11am on a Friday, your order will not be trackable until it has been collected from us the following Monday.
Where is my order?
If an order has not arrived when you were expecting it, we recommend first checking the email account your BlackburnDistributions.com account is registered with. Any updates in status will be passed on via email, as it is our primary mode of contact. If you have not received any email updates, contact the web team on +44(0)1282 878 254 and we will follow up the progress of your delivery. This can take up to 24 hours but we will always be able to help, all our shipments are insured to the necessary value.
Can I use a different payment method?
No, we do not accept any other payment method other than those listed above for online purchases. Cash payments may be made at our retail store but will require completion of due diligence. Bank transfers are accepted for international orders made via email. We do not accept cheque's or store cards.
