Hoo Doo's 2011 two-fer pairs Bo Diddley's 1959 LP Have Guitar, Will Travel with its 1960 successor, In the Spotlight, adding five bonus tracks ("Lazy Woman, "Let Me In [Alternate Take]," "Bucket," "Heart-O-Matic Love," "Cadillac") for good measure. These are two of Bo's best, both containing some of his stone-cold classics -- "She's Alright," "Cops and Robbers," "Mumblin' Guitar" on Have Guitar; "Road Runner," "Story of Bo Diddley,' "Craw-Dad," "Walkin' and Talkin'" on Spotlight -- and LP cuts that capture the imagination and fire of Diddley in his prime. This music can be found on Hip-O Select's Complete Chess Masters series, but for those who don't want to dig so deeply, this Hoo Doo disc serves up a potent hit of Bo in his prime. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
