The teeth are sharp and it cuts through even large limbs quite quickly. The rope and carabiner are of poor quality, but the cutting chain is fine. Works most easily with two people taking turns pulling the rope so that you can both stand well clear of the limb as it falls.

Chain and rope system works well and can cut 6 to 8 diameter living trees 10 feet or so, or higher from the ground, using the correct angle. It helps to use an 8 " piece of wood with the rope wrapped for the pulling motion. The aluminum clip on the bag broke in 2 pieces after 8 to 10 uses throwing the bag, and the bag has torn at the grommet. Both problems can be easily fixed but for a brand new tool the breakage, tearing is not acceptable. Unfortunately I left positive feedback before use. This is the second rope saw I own and use, the first, a different tool from years ago, worked well with no problems at all but was misplaced. I can recommend this one because of performance, but be prepared for repairs/ replacement of components as discussed.

I was able to cut a rather thick portion of a birch tree (6") in a short period of time. I did read directions in detail and planned my "attack" on the tree. Saved me many $. I also waited until the city would come by and take branches.

It was a little too lightweight for the branch I needed cut. It would probably work fine for a branch 4 inches in diameter and less.

Great tool for any homeowner. Saved me HUNDREDS upon HUNDREDS of dollars rather than hiring an expensive tree service company. Takes down an 8-10 inch diameter limb with absolutely no issues. Make sure to use this saw with two people, it works much better than if you were to do it by yourself.
