I travelled all around Spain a ling time ago with just one music tape to play which was this one. We loved it and played it over and over. Just brilliant.

I have been a fan of Iggy since I first heard Raw Power back in the 70's. Like any artist who's career spans 4 decades not everything he has released is top quality but following the high quality of Skull Ring & the new Stooges album I was inspired to revisit his back catalogue once again. I used to have this album on vinyl ( when I had a record deck as well ) and had fond memories of it. Having bought it again on CD I am not disapointed. So much music from the past should stay there as the memory is better than the reality. This album has similarities to Soldier, New Values and Zombie Birdhouse although is certainly more diverse musically. Brick By Brick is more introspective lyrically, although quite positive in nature - especially on I Won't Crap Out, The Undefeated and Brick By Brick. It also features a few acoustic numbers such as the title track,Moonlight Lady and Living On The Edge Of The Night ( Iggy does Springsteen ??? sort of ). But don't worry there are plenty of out & out rockers as well - Butt Town, Pussy Power & My baby Wants to Rock & Roll to name but 3. The album features guest appearances by Slash & Duff Mckagan on a number of tracks and a duet with Kate Pierson ( B52's ) on the excellent Candy. If you're a fan of Iggy and haven't heard this album I would definately recommend it, whilst not perfect it is one of his better solo albums and for an album that was first released in 1990 stands the test of time pretty well.Read full review
