Kale is a leafy green biennial vegetable that is part
of the Brassica family (which includes cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower etc).
This mix contains a min of 50 seeds from each of the
following 4 varieties:
Tuscan Kale is often referred to
as the tastiest and most nutritious of all kale (due to its dark green
colour. The plants have long blistered dark green leaves which are also
very attractive in the garden;
Red Russian Kale is an old
favorite for its tenderness, sweet flavor, and nutritional value. An
excellent red bunching Kale that retains its sweetness during warm weather
and tolerates extreme cold. It has blue/green feathery leaves tinged with
red along with purple veins;
is ideal for raw salads as it has one of the most tender stems and leaves
of any kale variety. It can also be lightly steamed. It has light blue-green leaves with white stems
and ruffled shape. Plants are hardy, fast growing and frost tolerant. If
growing during hot conditions, protect plants from hot afternoon sun;
Dwarf Blue Curled Kale
has bluish-green leaves that are curled on the edges and are tender and
sweet with a mild flavour. Young leaves can be used in salads while older
leaves steamed similar to spinach.
Kale has one of the highest levels of antioxidants of
any vegetable. It is a very high source of vitamins A, C, B6 and K and is high
in manganese, dietary fiber, copper, calcium, potassium and tryptophan.
Guide to Sowing Times
Winter crops need at least 5 degrees C to
germinate and 3 hours of sunlight);
Young seedlings are not frost tolerant so some
protection from frost is required until they are advanced;
Crops during hot summers will need some shade
during the hottest part of the day);
Can grow in a variety of
soils providing it is well drained and high in organic matter. Kale
does best when pH of the soil is between 5.5 and 6.5. Kale requires moderate
amounts of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. In warmer climates, soil should
be well mulched to retain moisture.
5 – 10 mm deep in seed trays
and transplant. Minimum temperature required is 5 degrees C (germination will
take up to 6 weeks). Germination will take approx. 1 week at 20 degrees C.

can be germinated in pots / punnets and transplanted with spacings of 30cm
between plants and 50cm between rows.

Do I need to
wait for an invoice before payment?
No - eBay will automatically combine postage when you
complete checkout and proceed to payment. If the postage calculation is
incorrect, I will amend & send an invoice, or if payment has been made, a
refund will be processed.
How do I buy
multiple items on the one invoice?
Select the 1st item and click on “buy” then
select the “commit to buy” button on the next screen.
You will then get an option to pay for the item now or
“visit sellers store”.
Select the visit sellers store option and repeat the
process for the subsequent items.
Once all items are purchased, then you can proceed to the
payment & all items will be combined onto one invoice.
