Honestly. Best white boy blues album I've ever heard. Ever. And that's saying A LOT when you consider Paul Butterfield,Charlie Musselwhite, John Mayall et al. The roots grooves of Bill Bateman (drums), Johnny Ray Bartel (bass) and Dave Lee Bartel (rhythm guitar) are stunning. The lean lead guitar of Paul "the kid" Size interweaves seemlessly through the tunes and Lester Butler's harp and vocals are sublime. There's plenty of Red Devils on YouTube to research before you buy this (it becomes available on and off). Most probably my desert island disc. Lester Butler RIP. You da man. Your pal, Bernard.
