THIS IS A FACE FIT MECHANISM FOR PROFILES THAT DON’T HAVE A EURO GROOVE. THE FACE PLATE IS 13mm WIDE AND 3mm THICK FITTED WITH BRASS SCREW HOLE INSERTS TO ALLOW THE FACE PLATE TO SLIDE. IT IS FITTED WITH MUSHROOM CAMS THAT ARE 10mm ROUND. THE CAMS LOCK INTO YOUR KEEPS, IF THE KEEPS ARE NOT IN THE CORRECT POSITION YOU CAN MOVE THEM TO SUIT THIS REPLACEMENT MECHANISM.

 

THE MECHANISM CAN BE CUT DOWN AS SHOWN IN DIAGRAM FOR A 500mm REPLACEMENT.

 

ESPAG MECHANISMS HAVE DIFFERENT BACKSET MEASUREMENTS AND IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THE BACKSET OF THE REPLACEMENT IS THE SAME AS THE ORIGINAL. THE BACKSET IS THE DISTANCE FROM THE FRONT EDGE OF THE RAIL TO THE CENTRE OF THE SPINDLE HOLE IN THE GEARBOX.

 

THE BACKSET OF THIS MECHANISM IS 22mm.

 

THE CENTRE HOLE IN THE GEARBOX IS THE SPINDLE HOLE, THE OTHER TWO ARE HANDLE SCREW HOLES AND THESE ARE 43mm APART WHICH IS STANDARD ON ALL MECHANISMS.
