Folklore is one of those games that intrigued me while I was younger, but never enough that I'd spend my hard earned allowance money on it when there were many other titles coming out all the time. Now that I'm older, I caught sight of it, remembered my curiosity and thought to myself: "Eh, what the heck?". The best part about this game is the world itself, such as the quirky designs of the NPCs and the colorful atmosphere (which is helped further by an outstanding soundtrack). I'm surprised how well the graphics hold up as well as they do considering the fact that Folklore was almost a launch title. The story is intriguing, but there is some break in immersion because of the stiff dialogue scenes, only slightly. The game-play is engaging enough to be fun, though the general wonkiness derived from the earlier days of the PS3-games trying out the various functions of the system leaves something to be desired. Overall my experience was good. This is not a game for everyone, especially with the higher standards of performance that we have today, but for fantasy-enthusiasts such as myself it can be an interesting experience indeed.Read full review
