Very difficult to find First U.K. press of this record in incredible condition. Although it grades VG+ it is closer to Near Mint as the only wear is cosmetic and probably caused by the removal and insertion of the record back into its paper sleeve. Original insert is perfectly intact with the most minor of wear. Contains the original Vogue inner sleeve. Jacket is VG / VG+ - has some wear and creasing to its spine.
Graded according to specifications of the Record Collector's Guild:
Mint (M) Absolutely perfect in every way.
Near Mint (NM or M-) A nearly perfect record.
Very Good Plus (VG+) Some signs that it was played and otherwise handled by a previous owner who took good care of it.
Very Good (VG) Many of the defects found in a VG+ record will be more pronounced in a VG disc.
Good (G), Good Plus (G+) A record in Good or Good Plus condition can be put onto a turntable and will play through without skipping.
While McGear's album may be strongly reminiscent of Paul McCartney in important respects -- the carefully crafted pop/rock arrangements and, of course, the vocals -- no one's going to confuse it with Paul himself; the material has a much more pronounced, droll, British satiric bent than McCartney's. Beatle aficionados would be very interested.
