You are looking at a Rexman imperial metal lathe. An oldie but a goodie! Measures approximately 600mm between centres. Will swing 225mm (9") above the bed, 330mm diameter in the gap. Lathe is powered by a single-phase induction motor of about 1hp (guess). Three speeds are belt (cone drive style) selectable. Back-gearing gives additional extra-low speeds. Features: Automatic longitudinal feed and thread cutting Graduated cross and compound slide knobs Back-gearing Adjustable gibbs Adjustable head and tail stocks Belt was replaced February 2010 (first time since I purchased it) Size: 1260mm wide, 720mm deep, 1150mm high (760 bench height) 21mm spindle bore Comes with: 3-jaw 4" Burnerd chuck (with inside and outside jaws) 4-jaw 4" independent chuck (with reversible jaws) 1/2" tailstock chuck Thread-chaser dial dead centre Assorted centre drills Halogen worklight Metal stand (with wheels) Tool holder Knurling tool Parting tool Dial gauge (no stand) Also comes with a spare thread-plate casting if you need to make a special thread-plate for the spindle. I have owned this lathe for over 20 years and it has mainly done brass, bronze, aluminium, plastics and some mild steel work. History before me is unknown. It has served me well. Pick up only unfortunately. I can hold it for up to a month after the auction finishes if needed. After that I reserve the right to refund payment and re-list it. Inspection welcome. Any questions, please ask! Thanks On 02-Jan-12 at 15:42:38 AEDST, seller added the following information: I have measured the lift of the headstock. A 600mm bar was clamped in
the chuck. The bar was lifted up and pushed down. Movement of the
chuck in the vertical direction was measured with a dial gauge under the chuck.
Total movement was 0.09mm. On 05-Jan-12 at 19:40:42 AEDST, seller added the following information: I now have a chain hoist so I can load the lathe onto a ute, trailer or flat-bed truck for you. |
