Well I needed a new mouse old one Logitech was wearing out . New 500 model I seen looked like it was designed better than the old standard model I had. Well it fits my very big hands with ease .it works just as good as the old one but with little more options on it. You can push the clicker on and off with the button that is on it that's really nice. Also it has side buttons that let you go back to a previous page or go back to the original. So it works for me real good. I gave it 4 stars because I no there may be one better out there but this one is just find for me.

I wanted to buy another ergonomic mouse to replace my failing MS Intellimouse 3.0 (more than a decade old). While the M500 is ergonomic in terms of the shape, I find that the body is a bit short (like 1cm short compared to the MS mouse) that it doesn't really fit my palm that well. Even though the mouse tracks well on any surface, I feel that I need to get one of those gel mousepads because the part of my palm near my wrist is dragging on the table/surface due to the shorter body of the M500. In terms of function, I like having the side-to-side scrolling that the Intellimouse 3.0 doesn't have. The Intellimouse 4.0 has the side to side scrolling, but it doesn't work that well (this works much better). I also like the hyper-scrolling (I can use it regularly for more silent scrolling). I normally program my scroll button to be double-click, but I don't like the feel of the scroll button for that purpose. I like the more "predictable" feel of the M510 better for example. Other than that (and the size of the body), I think this mouse is okay.Read full review

Great value. I originally purchased this model's wireless, rechargeable 'big brother' with a Logitech DiNovo keyboard/mouse combo back ~2005, and although it's still working like a champ, as with most re-chargeables, it suffers from one minor drawback. limited power reserves. For a professional who spends up to 18 hours a day behind the keyboard, or even just for someone who forgets to place the re-chargeable mouse back into its charging cradle, having one's mouse fade while work still needs to be done is an obvious problem. Since the M500 is wired, and since it has the same basic form factor as my DiNovo mouse (model M-RBA97, if anyone cares), it's a shoo-in for backup. (I bought two so I have one when its buttons begin to fail (like my last M500). Get 'em while you can. It looks like the days of wired mice are all but over...Read full review
I bought this Logitech M500 mouse for my Windows 7 laptop because I find a mouse easier and more comfortable to use navigating the web than the touchpad. I got the corded one instead of a "cordless" one because I got tired of frequently replacing batteries in my cordless mouse. Now I never have to worry about that because the mouse gets it power from the computer now. The laser tracking beats the old track balls that were under some mice, and works on almost any surface. After first plugging it in (USB) the computer recognized it and every button and function worked as intended. If you push down on the scroll wheel while on a link it will open the link in a new tab. The scroll wheel can spin freely for quickly scrolling long pages, and pressing the little button behind the wheel will turn on a detent for the wheel so it doesn't spin freely and holds the pages steadier. They have a link where you can download a free driver that will make scrolling "smooth" when you turn the wheel, as opposed to the jerking you get when using the up or down arrow. Without this driver, scrolling up or down is just like hitting the up or down arrows to scroll. I downloaded it and it works great. I would recommend it. The two buttons on the left side will "page forward" or "page backward" when navigating the Internet. There is nothing I don't like about this mouse, and would highly recommend this one if you are interested in a top notch, ergonomic and reliable mouse.Read full review
There are not many options for corded mice with all the features. This is an excellent product. I am very pleased. Solid feeling and very light and responsive. Has definitely speeded up my work flow.
