... when you're in need of a matching pair from a very short list of modules? You take whatever you can find. And, when buying from here? It'd be best to see pictures of every stick -- wound up w/ 1/2 of 2 different pairs, which rarely ever works as dual channel. Unfortunately, most manufacturers will change the ICs used w/o not telling anyone (i.e. the model numbers typically remain unchanged )-;~ These particular stick are both old 'n slow, and I did get a pair of Corsair's extreme performance for little of nothing ... there's no reason to ever buy 'cheap' memory, despite the fact I did initially, but for less than ten bucks? It gave me a few days to overclock and 'dial in' my settings. When selecting the best memory for your needs? There's speed (the frequency, e.g. 1600, 1800, 2400, etc.) and quickness (how many clock cycle it needs to work). Overall performance is the result of both measures (and in this circumstance, I lowered the frequency, and 'tightened the timings' which lowers the number of cycles req'd to accomplish any given task (and the system actually finishes everything more quickly, and uses less power, which produces less heat, further increasing efficiency ~;-) But, you were wondering about this specific Kingston product, which sorta sucks ... can' t recall a single product of this brand that I was ever impressed by. Ever, and I've been at this since before computers cost less than cars. Or, houses, in some cases. Look for a better brand, based on the many reviews and tests and discussions you can find on the 'net, narrowing your search to modules that will work w/ both your motherboard and your CPU -- even the fastest memory is dead slow, if your system doesn't boot.Read full review
