Author Biography
Coleman Carnegie Langshaw is the part of the fifth generation of Carnegies on Cumberland Island, Georgia. A descendant of Thomas (brother of Andrew) and Lucy Carnegie, Langshaw is one of the owners of Greyfield Inn on Cumberland, and now resides in neighboring Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, Florida. In addition to his family legacy in Georgia, his family also hails from southeastern Massachusetts, where spent much of his young life. And his other family branches, having stories of their own, include the Ricketsons, who came to America in the 1600's and amassed a fortune in the early whaling industry of New Bedford; The Fergusons and Halls of Belfast, Maine; and the Langshaws, also of New Bedford, who amassed their wealth in the textile industry. His life has taken him to many places, literally and figuratively, each having stories yet to be told. He has been to Ireland, France and the Caribbean; he has been a short order cook, a naturalist aide, a janitor, a tour guide, a PBX operator, a candidate for public office, a charter and small ferry captain, a soccer coach, a marina director, a seasonal park ranger, a family support worker for a child protective investigations unit, a father, a grandfather, and of course- a son.
