HTC Incredible S is really Incredible.
This phone is pretty neat. This phone was purchased to replace an HTC Desire and it's waaaay better then that. The battery life is a lot better and for a smartphone is pretty good. It's pretty easy to use, my 3yo can use it already and we've only had the phone for 2wks.
I love that it has two cameras which is great for skype. If you're in a well lit area (outside on a sunny day etc) then the front camera takes decent photos.
I purchased this phone second hand after the original owner had the phone for 12mths and it still works great.
I have never owned an iphone 4 5 or 6 or whatever number their upto now, but I'd imagine this phone could practically do anything that phone could do, just without the cost of your arm or leg.
Great performance and reliability
Had this phone for a month now and very happy, no problems at all with it performance or reliability. Was unsure about buying second hand but have been pleasantly surprised, Thanks
Awesome phone, great value!!
Can't fault this phone!
Slips into my pocket easily and doesn't get in the way of daily tasks while it's in there, i'm hard on phones, believe me, so far it's been in many rugged places, dusty, humid and industrial situations, it hasn't failed me yet and thats saying something...
I live in a fringe area and i never have any issues with service, i've never had a dropout yet!
I've seen some reviews that said the phone is hard on batteries. I have too disagree totally, i get at least 4 days per charge however I don't leave apps running in the background, I don't see the sense in letting my Facebook buddies know I'm having a coffee at 'Jo's or tht I just walked into a shopping centre..... they don't give a damn and I certainly don't either! (I purchased 3 spare batteries just in case, it was a waste of time and money!!!!)
If I had one complaint, and it's a very trivial one, it is easy too turn down the volume inadvertently while talking on it... the volume control is large (which i like) and is placed where your thumb or fingers sit while talking, like I said, that's trivial.... just adjust you grip and there's no problem! (the most comfortable phone to sit in my hand ever!)
The screen is an ideal size, easy too read, bright and sharp. The camera will kill any iPhone pic or vid and set up is the easiest phone i've ever used!!!
I have friends who have spent up to 1k on similar phones and there are no discernible differences that I can see, save your money guys, this phone rocks!!
Apart from the sheer practicality and value for money of this great little phone, you will also get a smile on your face when your mates say 'wow... nice phone, what is it?... can i have a look at it?" 2 of my friends have already bought one after they saw mine..... it's that good!!
Better than an iPhone and half the price!
I've owned this phone for over a year now.
It has an amazing camera.
The built in GPS works great with Google Maps and Navigation.
The battery life is good if you don't use it a whole lot (and turn off background apps).
The widgets you can install are awesome.
I love the big clock on the home screen (which you can remove if you don't like it!).
The only fault I can find (and it is a rather personal choice to be honest) is that it's not an Apple product so I can't use my iPod apps with it (would have to repurchase the same apps). But for the money, it more than exceeds the iPhone 4 and 4S in terms of functionality (oh and the hotspot worked fine on Optus pre-paid unlike the iPhone which means you can share your data to other devices and computers).
The best brands develop a design ID and stick with it. HTC's handsets since the Desire have all shared a common physical DNA; the way brothers and sisters can look the same while also looking uniquely individual at the same time. The Incredible S is strongly reminiscent of the Desire and the company's Windows Phone handsets, the Trophy and Mozart, yet there's something about its shape and feel that makes it one of a kind. Part of this is the curves on the phone's battery cover, described by HTC as looking as though you've taken the naked internal components and dipped them in paint, covering them by not entirely disguising what lies beneath.
The phone's 4-inch display is the best reason for naming this handset Incredible; its WVGA screen is sharp and gloriously bright. HTC uses a Super-LCD panel behind Gorilla Glass for this model, with capacitive touchscreen technology powering most of the phone's input. The results are first class, the screen is a pleasure to look at and extremely responsive to touch input. We still think the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc's Reality display has the edge, with better blacks and contrast, but this doesn't detract from the praise we feel HTC deserves in this department.
