The papers in this volume examine the conditions and consequences of micro-electronic technology within one or more of various spheres of the labour process. Although comparatively distanced from Braverman in recognising the complexity of control the use of a labour process perspective provides a welcome contrast to the conventional division in the literature on new technology between doom and gloom pessimists and technocratic optimists.
