There I was hoping to get an ipad for around $100, well you get what you pay for! but it was not all bad. The Good: Looks and feels OK. Works well as a photo viewer to show the family snaps, Loaded a few games which play quite well for the grandchildren.Quite good sound through headphones. The not so good bits, Slow wi fi connection especially at home where the laptop and old Pendo Pad 7" work OK, it just hangs and times out sometimes for no apparent reason, seems a little better on other connections but never great. It is not recognised as a device with Google Play (App site) so will not download many of the more common apps. (The included Getjar download site is next to useless with few user friendly apps available). Will not connect to a wireless dongle no matter how many parameter combinations I try. The user facing camera and the on charge light do not appear to work at all. Overall OK for a bit of a challenge and limited internet use but would be well worth the money if faster internet would work. Worth around what I paid for it but definately not an ipad!Read full review
Is this the worst tablet ever? Very possibly yes. I have yet to meet a sadder example. Biggest problem is that it is not recognised by Google Play, so you cannot access the biggest and most reliable source of apps. Other big problems are lack of GPS and Accelerometers, means many apps and games do not work. It is the buggiest Android device known to man and regularly freezes doing standard applications. The typing systems is strangely flawed and difficult to use the cameras are woeful and the build quality does not inspire confidence. Only upside is that it is cheap, but save your money to buy a more reputable tablet.
I bought this Pad as my wife wanted an e-reader. This pad gave me the same function plus all the advantages of an i-pad (at a third of the cost). A friend had recently bought one on sale for $20 more than I paid via e-Bay and I was totally impressed with the many functions and included software. As a Android based Pad, I had initial problems, hooking up Wi-Fi via Bigpond, however , A phone call to them had me up and running in a short time. Another great advantage, Pendo also had (for $10) an auxiliary keyboard (from NoWorries Online) which included a good-quality leather-look case.
This low priced android tablet performs very well,it performs all the tasks I require of it, email, Facebook, family pictures and home movies and educational database as well as ABC and SBS internet television program replay. The Pendo pad was easy to learn how to use and there are many accessories available for it. It is slower than an I pad on the same wireless network but for the price it is forgivable It does not use "Google Play" but "Get Jar" provides all I require. I am very happy with this device and advice from the sellers who are Australian based.
The product was relatively easy to set up and use but the battery doesn't last very long! I found within a couple of hours I needed to recharge which was very annoying to say the least.
