Description

1 of a number of binoculars I am currently selling which have all come from 1 private collection....some may be in their original cases and others may not.. I can only describe what I see and I am not a collector of these sort of items myself so I do apologise now if I have made any errors or not used the correct jargon when describing them... please ASK questions before bidding.

 

This is a WORLD WAR II British binoculars used by the RAF ... see SEEGER page 28 of his book his ref No. Abb. 15 ...he says ... Galilean binocular about 1944 ...also known as HUSUN PILOT BINOCULARS made by Henry Hughes London....developed in 1920 and for best use in AIRCRAFT   ...you do not see many of these for sale.. the case first... its brown leather ..carry strap missing.. the fastener buckle is ok but has seen use....top is marked with ... A.M.  REF No. 6E/338 BINOCULARS FOR NIGHT USE .inside it is blue velvet.

The binoculars are HEAVY brass with partial black paint loss...little BARREL shaped ones they are... with side eye guards too ..hard plastic.. the brown leather strap has a replacement stud on the left side.

They are marked on the top centre...REF No. 6E/338 and the CROWN with A.M. below for AIR MINISTRY. ....picked out in white paint on the black.

Adjustment in the centre thumb screw only.. with movement of about 3/4 inch. ...they are in a fixed position too ..unlike other binoculars that move to your eye width etc.

The lenses are very clear and adjust well.. looking thru from the back they do have black spots as always...but as I have said all along this does not stop them from working. 

I do not clean the binoculars I sell... as I will leave that up to the buyer that is confident they know what they are doing... although please do NOT mess about with them if you dont know what you are doing either...! returns only accepted on items that are not messed about with by you or a 3rd party.

The binoculars are 3 and a half inch long and weigh approx.....676grams without their case.. and 925 grams with case included .

 

CHECK the shipping out before you bid if you are overseas.!...also note..if the actual shipping cost is quite abit less than I have charged you I will refund the differance. ...but please allow for the packing materials etc which are all brand new...especially for you to get your item in good order..!! 

A nice item GO-WITH for those of you into WAR WEEKENDS or normal binocular use of HUNTING - SHOOTING - WALKING - BIRD WATCHING - DEER STALKING - KATE HUMBLE SPOTTING - MOON GAZING or OUTDOOR use.

Conversion ... approx... 2.5cm = 25mm = 1 inch
