Excellent series, great ensemble cast - Jonas Armstrong (Robin Hood) was fresh out of drama school when chosen for this role - he shows a promising future. The writers do take a bit of artistic license with the story, but it works well. If you are a fan of Robin Hood, you should definitely check out this wonderful BBC series!
While I really liked Season 1, this Season is fabulous. Sir Guy is so much more human and is so torn by his love for Marian and his duty to the Sheriff. What a portrayal, great acting. The Sheriff - well, he's so much more of a villain this season, nothing holds him back. While he is the"bad guy" him and Guy are actually my favorite characters, very deep and well acted. Robin and his band are always a pleasure to watch, especially the budding love between Jaq and Will, Mutch is great also. The plots are pretty much the same, save the kingdom from evil Prince John and the Sheriff. Lot's of great characters this season, like the lusty Queen Eleanor of Aquitane (Johns and Richards mother). Marian is the only disappointment. She's so predictable, it's hard to believe she could fool Gisbourne and the Sheriff, and she is really not very believable as the feared "Night Watchman". This is really the only let-down this season. Sure hope BBC is gearing up for Season 3 - this is thoroughly enjoyable TV.Read full review
Robin Hood Season Two is very exciting and as action-packed as season one, if not more. I very much enjoy the originality of the stories each episode brings. All the favorite charcters are back from season one. There are stunning performances by well known British actors. These stories blend the traditional with some modern twists. At times, when the stories seem almost too light-hearted, then reality will strike, someone will die. Unfortunately, two of my favorite charcters do die in this season and two more leave the show, (I guess.) But even so, this season is well-worth watching and I still want to see what happens next, even though next season will be very different.
I must admit that I've become a bit of a Brit TV freak of late and I have a bit of a school girl crush on Richard Armitage! Putting that aside I loved Season 1 of Robin Hood and I'm awaiting delivery of Season 2 and I can't wait for Season 3 to begin. I love the updated theme in this retelling of the old Robin Hood tale. Especially, since Robin's now young and exciting. He's also a bit of a tortured soul and I like that, he's very real. In fact, all of the characters are real and believable. I adore Sir Guy of Gisborne and wish that Marion would redeem him, but alas I believe he is now lost. Season 3 should be interesting! If you are a Robin Hood fan you'll love this set! Just remember this isn't your mama's Robin Hood!
Excellent series with great character driven scenes and dialogue and authenticity
