Rockin’ with Elvis New Year’s Eve 1976 RARE ELVIS PRESLEY DELUX DOUBLE LP SET
28 Priceless Songs! Treasured Memories!
Attention all Elvis fans!
In the short time since his last 1976 Las Vegas appearance, Elvis had lost several kilos and he suddenly appeared in better shape than in the previous three years.
This concert was recorded on 31 December 1976 at the Pittsburg Civic Arena and really showed Elvis feeling fit, happy and enjoying life once more. As guitarist John Wilkinson said about the New Year's Eve show "It was magnificent, one of his very best".
Listening to this lengthy show (as Elvis says, "We'll sing all night, as long as you want to hear us"), it is impossible to believe that in less than 8 months he would be dead.
In the middle of the concert Elvis says "I'd like to wish you a very happy and prosperous New Year and hope you health and happiness and may your God be with you. I mean that sincerely". If only someone had really been there to look after Elvis' health and happiness!
This really was Elvis' last magnificent performance. Elvis is in splendid voice, great spirit and sounds like he is loving every moment. For the 16,409 people present that night in Pittsburgh, this was something very special!
A highlight among the 28 songs performed is Elvis singing 'Rags to Riches' - the one and only time that he sang this song live.
The Mega Rare Gatefold Album cover artwork on this Double LP Set is breathtaking with 16 magnificent colour photos taken of Elvis in performance.
