This CD is a total winner! Sibelius wrote exciting music to start with, and the Berlin Philharmonic and its wonderful conductors are the perfect medium! The featured cut, the Second Symphony, is a masterpiece presented perfectly by Okko Kamu. His timing and overall handling leave little to be desired, and, actually, I can't tell any difference between Kamu's presentation and that of Karajan in a previous recording. They both are excellent. For me, though, the highlight of the disc is Karajan's rendition of Finlandia. As I said, Sibelius always wrote exciting music, and the BPO and Karajan bring out the fire of this passionate piece better than I ever heard it before. The other two cuts, Valse Triste and The Swan of Tuonela, are superb in their own right. The sound on this CD is excellent. This is one of the best offerings from this Eloquence label, which has produced a number of winners. The price is right. I can assure you that you will be very pleased if you pick it up. Do not hesitate. A+++++Read full review
