Succulent

Brand:

THIS VARIEGATED FORM IS THE ONE THAT GOES HOT PINK

Pedilanthus Tithymaloides

Known by several names such as Devil's backbone, Zigzag plant, Jacob's ladder.

Photos are of plants growing in my own garden.

Believe me,these pics have not been photoshopped.

This is the colour they turn in Autumn and Winter

Devil's backbone has one of the most fearsome common names in the Plant Kingdom.

The common name is apt for this plant, since the stems of each alternate leaf bend left or right, producing a mischievous zigzag effect.

This subtropical succulent is a distant relative of the familiar Christmas poinsettia.

The plant does not bear conspicuous flowers, but it will eventually produce small red flowers that resemble the heads and wings of tiny cardinals, hence its other common name "redbird cactus."

ON OFFER

are 2 cuttings with roots...shown in gallery.

Depending on time of year leaves may have changed colour.

MY NOTES

Pedilanthus tithymaloides

Devil's backbone, Zigzag plant, Jacob's ladder. Curious plant with showy growth habit - zig-zag stems, and interesting pink flowers. Drought tolerant, easy in cultivation, and as a houseplant.

It also has one of the most melodic botanical names, Pedilanthus tithymaloides.  It is, however, not a cactus at all.  The plant grows from a few inches to 3 to 4 feet tall and 2 to 3 feet wide.  It has 1- to 3-inch-long leaves. Two varieties are sold, green and variegated, and the variegated form takes on this pinkish tint during cooler weather.  It will grow outdoors in hot, humid regions. Indoors, you'd want to give this Central American member of the Euphorbia plant family really bright light and warm conditions.

Generally pest free.

Sorry cannot post to Wa or Tas.
