I don't see why some have been so negative about this monitor. Image quality is excellent. I have no complaints. As for "washed out colour"...well just turn up the colour to suit your liking! Had no problem with motion blur or any issues. All other reviews on the net are very good about this unit. I love it. Great size too. At first the curved bit had me a bit confused but using it and sitting up close as you do on a computer, you really do feel immersed in the game.

Truly I do not understand the market for this "VA" monitor. I moved from IPS 27" display, and honestly the Korean "yamakasi" monitor I had before this was superior in every aspect of colour and desktop text reproduction. the ONLY benefits with this screen are the width, and the supposed fast response time for games, and having said that it's a 60Hz only monitor, so not a true gaming thoroughbred. I've had a monitor with a ~60ms lag, this is more like under ~10ms - but you really are paying for that by sacrificing image quality. I would not recommend this for viewing digital movies off iTunes/google play or desktop use. the colour output looks 6-bit and highly dithered, full of digital artifacts, despite being an 8-bit screen according to the specs. Very disappointing device, I recommend paying more and doing your research. Speakers - I did not try because to use them you would have to fall back to 50hz over HDMI, I truly do not see the point of this.Read full review

Like the other reviews, I found this monitor to be mostly hype and sorely disappointing. Even after professional calibration, the colours were sub-par at best, with the contrast lacking and refresh-rate sluggish. After a bit of research into more users reviews, I found that this was a common set of complaints. Frankly, I would have preferred to wait for a stronger product, instead of paying $1,000+ for this. I would have happily paid on the $500-$600 mark for this unit, given the better experiences I've had at that price point, but given its youth, the price is likely still being heavily regulated by Samsung, and unlikely to be dropping. My advice, wait for another iteration of these monitors -- this one is still half done.
