Very different from the PC version, but a great game nonetheless. This game is great for those who don't like having to spend a whole lot of time (or who don't have a lot of time) gaming. It's very easy to learn if you're already used to the DS system and still easy if it's your first game! Basic gameplay involves you traveling from planet to planet, completing "missions," to save your friend who was captured! The game features a handy "goal guide" which lets you know what you have to do next. There are badges you can earn (like shaking trees, throwing rocks, making friends) which allow you to unlock cheat codes. As far as evolution goes, you use the "creature creator" to remove/add body parts to affect certain stats of your spore creature. I've almost beat the game and am still having fun with it! The only neg I'd give it is the dancing part of making friends is sometimes really hard, but then again I'm probably just really bad at it! Other than that, I'd recommend this game to anyone!Read full review
I looked at this game in the stores many times but hesitated. I now have it and have played it for a bit now and I really enjoy it!! You create your creature and adapt it to the environment as you go along. You interact with other creatures either making friends or fighting them to the end. You have a space ship in the story too that you are going after to help save a friend....and the planets that it has been too and caused problems. You are given tasks to complete along the way. Although the computer version is bigger than the DS game, the DS game is still full enough and quite fun. Kind of like a role playing game in many ways with worlds and creatures to explore and goals to meet. Worth playing more than once too although the journey does not change from one creature to the other.Read full review
The game is fun and you get to explore new worlds with your own creatures. However, it's not as good as I had anticipated and the computer game version is much better. In the DS version, you don't have as much flexibility in the things you can do, the graphics aren't as good, and the storyline isn't as well thought out. The creatures are all two-dimensional (whereas in the computer version, the creatures are three-dimensional and the world is considerably expanded).
What I lke is that my little boy is really enjoying this game. I was going to save it for Christmas but he has been doing so good in school that I really wanted to go on and give it to him. I don't have a chance to go and get him other things as I work alot. This game he is really enjoying! I really don't see anything I dislike about it. I haven't played it but my little boy hasn't put it down since last night. I decided to buy it because that is one thing that he asked for Christams. I had seen it on TV and he more then once asked for it. So that is why I looked it up to see if it was cheaper here on ebay. It really wasn't that much cheaper but it does save me from finding time to get to walmarts, and lets not forget gas too! The one thing I hate about Ebay is that I don't have the time to get on here and keep bidding on the things that I want. Since I work, I can't get on here as much and that makes me loose trying to win the things that I really want. By the time I get back on here the bidding is done and I have lost. Seems it doesn't matter how much I put ahead either, someone wins by only a few cents. Ebay is good for the ones that can sat on their computer alot but not for ones that works like I do.Read full review
Great DS game where you use your imagination to compete tasks and play the game. My 8 year old son just loves the game and he even ended up wanting the PC version, which is very comparable to the DS game but a little bit more involved. Well worth the purchase if you have a young boy or girl that has alot of imagination.
