Specifications:

This is a professional Step Down DC / DC Converter circuit. 

Dimension:     44 mm*22mm*6.8mm (L*W*H)

Input Voltage:    4 - 25 VDC;

Output Voltage:  1 - 10 VDC  ( Default ) or  1.22 - 6.7 V ( more high-precision )

(  Adjustable  ) (To work normally, the input voltage must be at least 1.55V higher than the output voltage)

Maximum Current:   3 A (  < 15W )

The efficiency can reach  90% - 95% with a quite low heat power! (very low heat, without heat sink )

If the output side is short-circuited, the circuit will be automatically protected!

The quiescent current of the circuit is   5 mA ( EN pin to enable the end, when grounded, the circuit still consumes only 0.06mA, can be used to connect normally open-type temperature switch )

The input side is connected with a red LED, while the output side a green LED

The total consumption of the circuit is about  10 mA.

The value of adjustable resistance on the circuit board is  50K

 

 

Applications

1.  If you want to charge a lithium battery using a 6 V or 12 V storage battery,
    but the lithium battery has no protective circuit, how should you do?
    The nominal voltage of the lithium battery is 3.7 V, and the cutoff voltage is 4.2 V.
    The operation process is as follows: connect the input side with a storage battery, adjust the adjustable resistance
    with a small cross screwdriver, check the output voltage and then adjust it to 4.2V. After these operations, you can connect
     the output side with the lithium battery for charge.

2.  How to charge a digital device at 5V using a storage battery?
    Determine the output voltage with a voltage meter, and then adjust the output voltage by adjusting the adjustable resistance.

3.  I have a 6 V storage battery, but I want to get a constant output voltage of 5 V using it, how should I do?
     Sorry, you can’t achieve it, because the input voltage must be at least 1.55V higher than the output voltage.

4. I need 5 volts output (2 A load) - my input voltage could vary between 9 v and 18v.
    I want to make sure that the resistor will only need adjusting once and after
    that whatever the input voltage is (whether it is 9v or 12v or 18v) it will always regulate it down to 5 v.

    It is No Problem!

 

 


Attention

Power Input: Red+   Black- (Please carefully check the electrodes before connecting to the power supply, make sure your operation is correct,
otherwise the circuit will be burned)

Power output: Yellow+   Black- (before loading, please measure the output voltage with a multimeter to ensure that
the output voltage is in line with the required voltage, never connect it with load before your operations are indeed correct.)

There are unequal potentials on the back of circuit board, so it can not be posted on a metal plate for cooling. If it is connected
with an external cooler for cooling, some thermal insulation papers should be laid between them.

If all the operations are correct, then the red light on the input side is lit, and the green light on the output side is lit
(the red light is brighter than the green one, because the green light is set on the output side where the voltage is lower than that of the input side)

If the adjustment range is not appropriate for you, you can make it appropriate by replacing the resistance on the left of the adjustable
resistance (This welding point is now short-circuited, if you want to connect the corresponding fixed resistances in series, the welding
point must be melted and separated using a cauterant). The total resistance value is the sum of the fixed resistance's values and
the adjustable resistance’s value.

 

Mood story

   I always want to have a more efficient DC-DC buck circuit, so I am seeking for a better IC. Until now, I have found it, and each of its
components is carefully selected: the core component is made in the U.S., the high-frequency low-resistance capacitances made by Sanyo (Japan) are
used as the input/output electrolytic capacitor, the inductance made in Taiwan, the adjustable resistance is made by Panasonic (Japan),
the ceramic capacitor is made by Fenghua, and the chip resistor is made by Uniroyal (Taiwan).
