Author Biography
Jelani Malik Weldon is an American author, poet, speaker, and music artist. Best known for his humor book ''You're Not That Special'', he has released romantic and religious poetry, motivational/self-help manuals, and stories of suspense. In addition to his books, Mr. Weldon has also penned plays, short stories, essays, and articles. Frequently published under the pen names J.M. Weldon or J. Malik Weldon, he has also released two independent music albums under the stage name J. Malik. Originally from upstate New York, Mr. Weldon spent the majority of his life in the coastal community of Savannah, Georgia, and credits the seaport's art-friendly atmosphere for stirring the gift within him. An eternal seeker of truth, J.M. Weldon has worked tirelessly with churches, youth groups, charities, NGOs, colleges and seminaries in the U.S. and abroad. Through his writing he strives to show that people of faith can be just as quirky, funny, sarcastic, open-minded and creative as anyone else. This has brought criticism from those who say he isn't religious enough, but also great benefits to others who can relate to his personal spiritual journey. He currently resides in Savannah, Georgia.
